Tips on viewing and buying a horse
-----------------------
There is a horse for everyone be honest and you may save yourself a lot of time and heartache.
--
ABOVE ALL ELSE - DO N0T LIE ABOUT YOUR ABILITY, EXPERIENCE OR ASPIRATIONS!
--
Horses have a great talant for showing up your strengths and weaknesses in an instant!
Likewise most people who produce horses and have been doing so successfully for many years will know immediately,
almost the minute you walk up the yard, whether you are a total novice, happy hacker, serious buyer, experienced professional,
ambitius teenager, spoilt brat or just a 'day tripper' out for a free ride!
--
The way you act, dress, interact with the horse and the phrases you use, all speak volumes.
--
BUYING THE RIGHT HORSE IS NOT 'FATE'!
--
If the horse is not for you be honest, assess your likes/dislikes and discuss them objectively.
--
We understand that not everyone who comes to the yard is going to find their perfect horse on the first visit, but the more honest and realistic you are the more likely you will be able to try a horse that will suit your needs, abilities and aspirations.
--
It may then be possible then to show you another horse more suited to your individual taste and requirements, or if we do not have one on the yard we can usually locate one for you, or let you know when we have one in that will suit you.
--
If we do not have one, the more 'open' you have been regarding your likes and dislikes of the horses that you have seen the easier it will be for us to help you find you a suitable horse.
DEPOSITS
--
Upon deciding you wish to purchase a horse:-
If you choose to leave a deposit to secure the horse soley for you to purchase then we agree not to show the horse or sell the horse to any other prospective purchaser until such time as you make payment in full - this must be within seven days of leaving the deposit otherwise livery charges will become payable at £25 per day.
Should you decide to 'change your mind' at any time the deposit will not be returnable.
If the deposit is left to hold the horse for you until it has been vetted and the horse subsequently passes the vetting then the deposit will be deducted from your purchase price.
If the horse FAILS the vetting then the deposit will be returned.
If the horses PASSES the vetting but you decide, for whatever reason, you do not wish to proceed with the purchase the deposit will not be returned.
If you do not leave a deposit then we reserve the right to sell the horse to any other prospective purchaser should we so choose.
