PELICAN POINTE LADIES 18 HOLE LEAGUE

The eighteen hole Ladies Golf Association at Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club sponsors League events on Tuesday mornings.
In addition, there are some special events which include some Thursdays ie: Club Championship, President's Cup, etc.
The PPLGA also sends members to events to compete with area clubs.
The League also conducts several special events during the year including Member-Member, Member-Guest, and Invitationals.

President's Forum
NEW UPDATE:
It seems Venice has once again dodged a bullet. Tropical storm Fay had very little impact on our community. We had some rain, but very little, and just a little wind. They closed the golf course on Tuesday but it really wasn't necessary. It ended up being just a dreary day!!!
It has been a quiet, typical summer here...hot with storms in the afternoon. The Club has tried to sponsor some new events which have been well received. A trip to the Hard Rock Casino, a Rays baseball game, and some fun golf events. Bill has been taking groups to different Clubs to play a round...private clubs not usually available to us. There also have been several special golf events for the members.
Hope all are doing well and enjoying their Northern summer.

As the new President of the LGA I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our members. Once again it was a busy season of activity for the Pelican Pointe Ladies and this year looks to be just as exciting as we have added some new activities to our schedule.
We began our new season with the MGA-LGA Challenge,a new event which was chaired by Anne Dawson and Nancy Eibling. It was a huge success, enjoyed by all (especially the LGA as the winners of the Stableford Point format) and we are already planning for next year! The beautiful trophy the LGA won now sits in the Pro Shop for all to see!!
The summer will be a quiet time although we have two events planned, the Summer Ringer Tournament and the TPC Tournament. These will be fit in around the annual Memorial Day, 4th. of July and Labor Day couples events run by the club. In September we will shift into our busy season and this year we have expanded our Member/Guest to be a two day event, we will have fun days such as "Super Tuesday" before the Super Bown and "March Madness" in conjunction with the NCAA Basketball tournament. We are also trying some new Tuesday games such as "Three Queens and one King" and a couples match-play event.
We have also joined the MGA and the Niners in finshing our Club Championship on Saturday, March 21, 2009 which will culminate in an evening celebration with all three groups.
Our goals this year are to continue to expand, increase participation, and to try and plan our events so that they will be enjoyable for all of our members regardless of handicap.
