PELICAN POINTE LADIES 18 HOLE LEAGUE

The eighteen hole Ladies Golf Association at Pelican Pointe Golf and Country Club sponsors League events on Tuesday mornings.
In addition, there are some special events which include some Thursdays ie: Club Championship, President's Cup, etc.
The PPLGA also sends members to events to compete with area clubs.
The League also conducts several special events during the year including Member-Member, Member-Guest, and Invitationals.

President's Forum
UPDATE:
Some of you have been away from Pelican Pointe for some time, so here is an update on what's going on. First, some sad news as two of our members have lost their spouses. Fred Nowasky died in May and Doug Pfaff passed away last week. Both had been ill for quite a long time but when the end comes it is always difficult. Please keep Gail and Dottie in your thoughts and prayers.
We have gotten quite a bit of rain in the last few weeks and the golf course has greened up nicely and the ponds are being replemished. The course was aeritated the first week of June and the greens are finally coming around. We had a full slate for the annual Memorial Day Tournament and our Employee Appreciation Day was a big success and most appreciated by all of our employees. Next year we are hoping to have the Ladies Golf Week earlier as many of the year-round members were not able to participate. An earlier date will allow many of you to sign-up and play before you head north. Best wishes for a happy, healthy summer!!

As the new President of the LGA I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our members. Once again it was a busy season of activity for the Pelican Pointe Ladies and this year looks to be just as exciting as we have added some new activities to our schedule.
We began our new season with the MGA-LGA Challenge,a new event which was chaired by Anne Dawson and Nancy Eibling. It was a huge success, enjoyed by all (especially the LGA as the winners of the Stableford Point format) and we are already planning for next year! The beautiful trophy the LGA won now sits in the Pro Shop for all to see!!
The summer will be a quiet time although we have two events planned, the Summer Ringer Tournament and the TPC Tournament. These will be fit in around the annual Memorial Day, 4th. of July and Labor Day couples events run by the club. In September we will shift into our busy season and this year we have expanded our Member/Guest to be a two day event, we will have fun days such as "Super Tuesday" before the Super Bown and "March Madness" in conjunction with the NCAA Basketball tournament. We are also trying some new Tuesday games such as "Three Queens and one King" and a couples match-play event.
We have also joined the MGA and the Niners in finshing our Club Championship on Saturday, March 21, 2009 which will culminate in an evening celebration with all three groups.
Our goals this year are to continue to expand, increase participation, and to try and plan our events so that they will be enjoyable for all of our members regardless of handicap.
