I dare you

March 16, 2010

Greetings! I was born and raised in a Southern Baptist environment. Elders were respected and admired. However, there were a few people who stood out among the rest. These individuals were consulted for insight and spiritual advice. They would start sentences off with: “Well My Bible says or “ The God I Serve and the infamous “ You must do what thus says the Lord”. If these seasoned folks said it, of course I believed it. As a child, I was too afraid to challenge their knowledge and I was amazed that God was only “speaking” to them. Now that I am older, I recognize the Omnipotence of God. God in His infinite wisdom will place people or provide tools as well as materials in your life to teach and steer you in the right direction. However, you must remember that these individuals can’t reserve a spot for you in heaven or escort you to hell. You have to develop a relationship with Christ on your own. It is very important to learn the Word of God so that you won’t be led astray by counterfeit, partial or diluted opinions or forms of the Gospel. Family, just because a person attends church, recites Scriptures with seemingly intimate knowledge and dresses wonderfully can still burst the gates of hell wide open wearing a pair of kerosene saturated shoes or heels. If you hear or see anything that does not “echo” positively into your spirit, line it up with the Word! Seek God for your answers. In these days and times, I find that people are hungry for the truth. We all know that there are groups of people who are skilled at twisting and manipulating things or people to complete their own personal agendas. So what makes the Word of God exempt from people attempting to do that same thing? Watch, Read and most importantly pray. When in doubt, check it out!

Matthew 7:15

“ Beware of false of prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves”.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15

“ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works”.

2 Timothy 2:15-16

“ Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness”.

Good Morning Family! I pray that my thoughts finds each of you in the best of health and spirits. Have you ever known anyone to grumble about anything but has everything that they need right in front of them? They have “experienced” so much yet even the little things in life fails to alleviate their misery. Being grateful for blessings no matter the size or deliverer falls on deaf ears and blind eyes? These are the kinds of people who are never content. I am referring to those who are proficient at utilizing words like: complain, moan, gripe, protest, criticize, object and whine. They have allowed their hearts to harden with unnecessary torment and it will appear that nothing or no one can soften it without some extraordinary conditioning. Family, we all have something to be thankful for. For those who are annoyed about something in their homes, think about the person who has lost everything in a fire. For the person who is troubled by someone on their job, think about the person who received a “pink slip” or has been laid off. For the person who says that they are tired and don’t feel like being bothered today, think about that person who can see but can’t feel or even move. For those who are irritated with your spouse, think about the widow, divorced or single parent who now has no choice but to deal with life’s grind alone. I will use myself as an example. I remember having a pity party because of DJ’s circumstances. Then I took a trip to the Shriner’s Hospital. I was amazed at the vast array of special conditions of the children and adults. I had people looking at me with empathy who I felt had a lot more to deal with than I could possibly imagine handling daily. I was quickly chastened and renewed at the same time. Family, whether you realize it or not, it could always be much worse than you think. Be thankful.

Psalm 92:1-2

“ It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High. To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night”.

Psalm 100:4

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name”.

Romans 1:20-21

“ For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not, as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. “

Colossians 3:15

“ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body, and be ye thankful”.

March 13-14

Hi! This weekend I am going to participate in the Heart Walk. Isn't it funny how the right things and the difficult things to do are almost always the same? Family, when you are tired and weary, don't give up. You may give out but not up. What you put out, surely you will get back. Have a wonderful weekend and remember to show, share and sew love!

Galatians 6:8-9
"For he soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not".

Good Morning! Chew on these right quick: Winners never quit and quitters never win. If you are “going through hell”, keep going. A bend in the road is not the end of the road, unless you fail to make the turn. If you can find a path with no obstacles, it probably does not lead to anywhere. You may not realize it when it happens but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you. We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey. When it is dark enough, you can see the stars. There is no education like adversity. The soul would have no rainbow had the eyes no tears. Adversity is the first path to truth. The difficulties of life are intended to make us better, not bitter. Damaged people are dangerous. They know they can survive. God uses suffering as a whetstone, to make men sharp. My point to all of these quotes, you may ask? In the midst of your storms, it may appear that God is silent. It will seem as if your prayers are unheard and unanswered. I remember one particular season, I took solace in my bed. I “covered” the pain in my heart with a smile that stretched so tight across my face, it hurt inwardly. After awhile, I just stopped pretending because I no longer felt the drive to do anything. You know, solitude has a tendency to dress you up in a heavy quilt of suffering, cover your feet in anguish, your heart decorated gaily with unresolved issues, your soul is embellished with concerns, your mind adorned with hopelessness and your spirit garnished with worries. You can’t find the energy or strength to part your lips to utter a simple prayer. In the midst of your downpour, you may have even been the subject of ridicule for holding on to your faith in God because “ nothing has happened yet”. Family, don’t give up on God. When I was down to nothing, God was always up to something. I am a witness that God is infamous and unbeatable at DELIVERANCE. His love for us is unfathomable. God hears, sees and knows all. Wipe your eyes, let God in, and hold on to His hands. Look toward Him for everything that you need. He restores, heals, guides, leads, instructs. He simply is God.

Psalm 30: 5

“ For His anger endureth but a moment in His favor is life: weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. “

Romans 4: 16

“ Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all”.

Hebrews 6:11-12

“And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: that ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

March 11, 2010

Good Morning Family! I was sitting down thinking about some of the outdoor activities that kept my attention and interest as a child. One of the things that I used to love to do was build “straw houses”. I was very elaborate with my straw creations. I had a three bedroom, two bath home, complete with “a door”. My little feelings were often crushed if the wind blew, it rained or those who I played with out of spite used their feet to bulldoze my home. I could relate to the classic fable : “ The Three Little Pigs”. Now that I live in a brick house, I am aware that it will take more than someone’s feet and heavy breathing to destroy my residence. However, I know that still does not make my residence resistant to inclement weather or other things beyond my control. Fortunately for us who are children of God, we can rejoice at “brief stormy things”. Family, we know that it does not matter what happens near, around, or to us, our family members, friends or material possessions. We all have a home as my grandmother used to say “ on the other shore”.

2 Corinthians 4: 17-18

“ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

2 Corinthians 5:1

“ For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have made with hands, eternal in the heavens”.

Hebrews 6:19

“ Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil”.

Good Morning Family!

Procrastination: “ To put off intentionally or habitually”. How many of you can relate to that definition? I have been guilty on more than one occasion of delaying a task or chore that seemed boring and consuming. I will give you an example. There were moments at the beginning of my journey of losing weight, I did not want to exercise. I would make an excuse, find something else to occupy the time that I had allotted or I simply dug in my heels, pulled out my stubborn costume and not do it. I paid for it later when I re-focused. Family, how many of you pray consistently? Fast? Meditate? Attend church/ Sunday School or Bible Study? Read your Bible? It is easy to become distracted or overwhelmed with our daily routines, the roles that we fulfill and schedules. However, our bond with Christ is very critical to surviving the current harsh spiritual, emotional, mental and physical climates in our environments. We were not born with 100 % guarantees tattooed on our lives. God is the only Omnipotent, Eternal, Infinite One. Take advantage of everyday that He blesses us with His love, grace and mercy by drawing closer to Him. If you don’t know Him and desire to do so, find someone or a church that can assist you with the beginning of a wonderful relationship with God. I encourage you to get rid of those I should have-could- have-would have albums, 45’s 33’s, 8 –tracks, video-tapes, cd’s, dvd’s, Blu-Rays or songs today!

Proverbs 27:1

“ Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth”

Acts 24:25

“ And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee”.

1 Corinthians 15:52

“ In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed”.

2 Corinthians 6:2

“For he saith “ I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation”.

March 9, 2010

Good Morning Family! I was driving out of a parking lot according to the arrows that directed the flow of traffic. Had I not been paying attention, I would have been involved in a head-on collision. A young woman driving in the opposite direction, saw the flow of traffic and kept coming down the lane. I only had a split second to maneuver my vehicle to the side to avoid the accident. She then looked at me as if I was the one making a mistake. I can’t deny that I was mad at her “driving techniques”. That young woman’s attitude (and many others like her) behind the wheel has birthed out road rage or worse . Anger seems to be running rampant nowadays. Say that word out loud. ANGER. Doesn’t it feel negative just hearing it? We are human and we will get mad, upset, disturbed, perturbed, troubled, insulted or even distressed. However when you become angry, WATCH OUT! Some of you may say that I am simply using semantics right? Just take a “gander” at the news locally, here in the US and abroad. Anger is a seed that causes roots of bitterness to attach themselves to your spirit and revenge or worse is the fruit. The Bible is filled with accounts of God’s righteous anger. His wrath although all consuming, it was used to fulfill His purpose. The Bible is also stocked with passages of men and women who when driven by anger, they committed some heinous acts. Family, I have shared with you how angry I was with my ex-husband. I was angry enough to seek revenge. Yet when I attempted to follow through, someone always “unintentionally” or “accidentally” called, visited, or asked me to do something for them. Being stubborn at times and persistent, God said enough is enough and put His hands on me. When God released me from that particular storm, I was equipped to handle a civil conversation with my ex. When I began to reveal to him some of the things that hurt me while we were married, he truly had no idea. I too, was stunned when he disclosed some of his thoughts. Family, when someone does something to rub you the wrong way, go straight to the source. Don’t pick up the “hell-o-phone” and talk about the incident to someone else. (Matthew 18:15-17) Just like my ex, he/she probably has no clue that you felt slighted. However, there are some individuals whose “blowfish natures” makes them feel as if they are right all the time, no matter what. Those come “hell or high water” personalities make the news frequently. Life is critical. Our lives are entirely too precious to be concerned or weighed down with something that a sincere apology can fix. For those of you who have approached that person(s) and you still receive no satisfaction, FORGIVE & PRAY FOR THEM anyway. Let God take care of the situation. The Bible is saturated with testimonies of His expertise at handling problems and misplaced pride. Anger if not properly addressed with and by God, can create permanent division in families, in our homes and even on our jobs. Once those bonds are broken, it’s hard to repair them when hearts have turned into stone and minds are clouded with bitterness.

Matthew 18:35

“ So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if you from your hearts forgive not every one of his brother their trespasses”.

Proverbs 25:23

“ The north wind driveth away rain: so doth an angry countenance a backbiting tongue”.

Ephesians 4:26-27, 31

“ Be ye angry and sin not: let not the sun go down on your wrath. Neither give place to the devil. Let all bitterness, and wrath and anger, and clamor and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice”.

Hebrews 12:15

“ Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled”.

Romans 12:19

“ Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, VENGEANCE IS MINE; I WILL REPAY saith the Lord”.

March 6-8, 2010

Good Morning Family! I hope that you had a wonderful, relaxing, productive weekend. I am 5’2 ¾ inches tall (62 ¾ inches). Some of you who know me would and have said that I am “vertically challenged”. I will remind those of you who believe and relish in your supposed luxury of looking down at my olive-oil-coated-scalp that big things come in small packages. Family, let’s take a look at David and Goliath. Goliath was over 9 feet tall. Yet David, put on the full armor of God, took a stone and killed Goliath. (1 Samuel 17) Gideon was told by God to reduce his army of men to 300 and he conquered his enemies. (Judges 7) God gave the enemy permission to attack Job and his end was much better than his beginning. (Job 8:7, 42:12) Mary, in a very unselfish act of gratitude and appreciation for Jesus saving her brother Lazarus’s life, opened her heart; took a small jar of expensive, rare perfume and wiped His feet with her hair. (John 12) Jesus took two fish, five loaves of bread, prayed and fed over five thousand people. (Mark 8, John 6) Family, I encourage you today not to “sweat the small stuff”. I implore you to “major in the minor and minor in the major”. He is an expert and infinitely capable of taking the tiniest beginning and turning it around into something great for His glory. (Matthew 17:20, Luke 17:6)

Isaiah 60:19-22(New Living Translation)

“ No longer will you need the sun or moon to give you light, for the Lord your God will be your everlasting light and He will be your glory. The sun will never set; the moon will not go down. For the Lord will be your everlasting light. Your days of mourning will come to an end. All your people will be righteous. They will possess their land forever, for I will plant them there with My own hands in order to bring Myself glory. The smallest family will multiply into a large clan. The tiniest group will become a mighty nation. I, the Lord, will bring it all to pass at the right time”.

Good Morning Family! P-Pops and Scuttney (my parents) have birthed and raised four children Me, my brother william Jr, April and the baby Quiota. Everywhere we go, we are known as " Bertha Mae and Chank's" children. My parents are often told that they have some beautiful and respectful children. Because of what I have been taught as a child, my children are now reaping the benefits of that same "home training". If you are the parents, aunts, uncles, older siblings or mentors of those aged infant to young adult, please be careful of what you are depositing into their spirit. Nurturing is a painstakingly slow, tedious, frustrating, yet highly rewarding process. I grew up hearing this saying (among many others) : " The apple does not fall far from the tree". This is a very old, plain but true cliche'. Family, you can't sit back and wonder where a child "gets" or "picks" up profanity, drinking, fighting, spirit of gossip, whorish mannerisms or any other negative behavior patterns if you are not monitoring what you say or do in front of them. Its hard to remember at times that we are human and are prone to make mistakes.
Your child/children will stumble as we all have. We all have in spite of what our parents and elders told us, behaved contrary to their teachings. Lessons learned the hard way are burned indelibly into our memories to share so that others can profit from our wisdom and experiences. There were times that I was extremely embarrassed at my parents no-nonsense, blunt, no-holds barred appraoch to our cultivation as children. Yet I appreciate the direct nature in which they communicated because if we didn't get it at home, it was much worse in the streets. I am applying that same method to my children. Yes, they are uncomfortable with my candor but I am content in spirit because they are getting the truth from home. By keeping it real and being consistent with exemplary actions in their presence, they can't help but follow your path. What you put out, you will get back.

Luke 6:43-45
" For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh".

March 4, 2010

Good Morning Family! I received a text message from one of my NCO Academy classmates-turned-sister on yesterday afternoon. She asked that I pray for her grandson. Her grandson was just diagnosed with having rare condition called Sacral Teratoma- a mass growing at the base of his spine. Prayer can heal the sick (Acts 28:8) When you stand in the gap for someone, God hears you ( Deuteronomy 9). When you ask God in faith for something that you truly desire, God will respond to your prayers( 1 Samuel). God will hear prayers even when we are ungrateful( Numbers 11:2)and answer. Even when it appears that yur enemies are about to overtake you, with prayer, God can wipe them out in the blink of an eye. (2 Kings 6:18) When it seems like all hope is gone, just standing on God's promises,God will ( as my grandmother used to say) "show up and show out( Acts 16:25-30. Elijah knew God's Word, will and he prayed. ( 1 Kings 17, James 5:17-18) Some may have a little faith and still God is faithful and just to react to your prayers (Acts 3:4-8). Family, faith is acting in accordance with God's purpose. Your prayer of faith does not automatically include a gift of healing. It does not wield unusual spiritual powers or strength(Acts 3:12). If that is the case, then all Christians would be healthy. The prayer of faith discerns God's will and perseveres until it is accomplished. (3 John 2)God's will however is not to heal in every case, and true faith can discern and accept that. ( 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, Roamns 8:26-27) I encourage you on today, to look outside of your inner hemisphere and open up your heart. Bless someone, a family, their situation, or just anyone that God lays on your heart with a prayer. I guarantee you positive results. Get with someone and pray together. I am a living witness. My mom is alive today because of our prayers. My son is doing more than what the doctors indicated when he was born because of our prayers. Some of you truly thought you were going to lose your mind but prayer kept you sane. Many of you have peace today because of prayers. A potentially harmful or unwise decision was turned around with repentance and prayer. many of you have a job, food, clothes, transportation and loved ones are alive because of prayers. Your marriages were saved because of prayers. You were sustained even when you didn't know your name because of prayers. A car accident was avoided because you prayed before you left the house. An enemy and his plots were revealed and ultimately thwarted because of prayer. I can keep going but you understand where I am coming from. NEVER underestimate the power of your prayers. Prayers can indeed change things.

Matthew 18:18-20
" Verily I say unto, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 21:22
" And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing,ye shall receive".

Psalm 55:22
" Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved".

Psalm 56:8-11
" Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. In God will I praise His word: in the Lord will I praise His word. In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me".

Psalm 57:1-2
"Be merciful unto me, O GOd, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth ALL THINGS for me".

Isaiah 55:11
" So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I plese, and it shall prosper in the things whereto I sent it".

Good Morning Family! My name is Colette DeLain Jones and I am a chocoholic. How many of you have ever surrendered to something or someone that has enticed you? You know that “deep in your (as my grandmother would say) marrow”, you should not touch, taste, hear or feel this person or situation. Yet the lure, excitement, appeal, attraction is pure seduction to your senses. I absolutely adore chocolate. I am not talking about cheap-leftover-from Easter-egg-hunt-trick-or-treating-Valentine’s day sale-candy that looks stale when unwrapped either. I have been known to visit Godiva stores to indulge in chocolate dipped confections until my country heart is content. I have had to learn the hard way on how to stop. Let me break it down to you in Lane’s terms. If you eat a piece of candy to satisfy a craving, you feel better right? However, some may have a larger craving and gobble a “giant-sized” candy bar. Others will have a greater longing and gorge on a small bag of miniatures. Then there are those for who a “taste test” just won’t do. Even going to one of those local stores that specialize in stocking candy in bulk is not enough for these special people. These are the ones who by now have fillings from previous cavities, they can’t tell the difference between a migraine and a toothache, their teeth are already screaming from stuffing themselves on “any kind” of candy, Orajel has begun to taste like water, using aspirin as a paste is useless and the dentist and his staff all have a BMW 7 series because of their many visits. Still don’t get it? As a child, I remember walking with my cousins along this red clay dirt road that led to my grandmother’s house. Crabapple trees, Wild cherry trees, honeysuckle vines, blackberry patches and my favorite, plum bushes all greeted us with their wild smiles. I submitted this one time to this luscious, juicy looking plum. I snatched that prized red plum off the bush so fast, my cousins were like “ Wow, Lane”. I stared at the plum in my hand for a minute before I bit into it. I wanted to savor this moment, you understand. Of course, I really didn’t take a careful look as I should have because as soon as I bit into it, not only was it sour, but it was rotten on the other side. I will be the first to admit that I have stumbled, fell, tripped, scarred both knees, bumped my hard head more than once while traveling down the road of temptation. My grandmother used to say: “ Lane, no matter how you dress it up, trash is still trash”. Family that lesson has carried me far in life. Think about that the next time you are contemplating on picking up a fruit that appears “ripe for plucking”.

Matthew 4:1, 10-11

“ Then Jesus was led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Then saith Jesus unto him, “ Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.” Then the devil leaveth him and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Romans 6:12-13

“ Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13

“ Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it”.

James 1:2-3, 12-15

“ My brethren count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him”. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempteth he any man. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth death”.

2 Peter 2:9

“ The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished”.

November 4-March 2, 2010

Greetings Family! I know that it has been a while since you have heard from me. I have been sick and just plain old busy. Yet, you were never far from my thoughts. I pray that during my absence God has kept and sustained you. During these lean times, I want to encourage you to lean and depend upon God. God has promised and I have never seen His word fail. He will never leave or forget about us. Continue to seek Him with all your heart and He will answer your prayers. No matter what your problems or issues are, it could always be much worse. Be blessed and don't forget that I love you.

Monday November 2, Tuesday November 3, 2009

Greetings Everyone! I am sitting here at my desk for lunch. I am eating one nice, freshly prepared piece of brim, two slices of "light bread" as we say down here, collards and cole slaw. It was dropped into my spirit as to how Jesus was able to feed five thousand and then some with two fish and five loaves of bread. Family, in these days and times, some of us are forced to do a lot with only a little bit. I want to remind you that with prayer and faith, Jesus was able to make things happen. So Family, with prayer and faith, take whatever your situations, circumstances, problems, dilemmas, worries, concerns, trials, tribulations, storms and whatever else you want to call those things that you can't control to God like Jesus did. Much prayer, much power. Little prayer, little power. No prayer, no power at all. Turn it over to Jesus and He will work it all out. We just have to remember to stay in our lanes and leave the driving to God. Be still and know Who is in control.

Thursday October 29-Sunday November 1, 2009

Good Afternoon Family! As I sit at my desk relaxing a little bit from a shipment, I wanted to send a message or two. I am consolidating these messages because this week has been so hectic and I have been unindated with lots of work. Trust that I am grateful because some people can't say that they have lots of work to do and get paid for it. I was amazed at the effort that some people are putting into Halloween. If we stop and think about it, it kind of lines up with how some of us live. Some of us put so much work into sewing to our flesh that our spirit man suffers greatly. If we put even half as much effort into working on our spiritual health, we would be amazed at how calm we would be in the midst of a storm. we would be amazed at how much peace we will have when someone comes and states that we are the subject of a negative conversation. We would be amazed at how we would feel when someone approached us angrily as we respond in love. We would amazed at how when we tone up spiritually, how everything else falls into place. Don't forget to set your time back on Sunday before you go to bed. I love you all.

Wednesday October 28, 2009

Halloween is coming up family. Most people are unaware that Halloween does not need to arrive in order to wear a costume or don a mask. Some of us have been wearing a cloak of deception for so long that we actually believe our own lies. You want to know what is even scarier? Some of us have been spiritual zombies for years. By being used as the enemy to be a carnal parasite, you have to feed constantly. So if you have gotten comfortable with eating unforgiveness, bitterness, resentment, malice, jealousy, incest, envy, anxiety, depression, poor health, failed relationships, loneliness etc... don't get upset about the "heartburn" that is experienced after gorging on those things for years. Yet there is a way out of the darkness. Yield to God and He will remove the ghosts and goblins of your past. with the Blood of Jesus, He can completely eradicate the evil spirits and strongholds in your life. So you will never again have to fear about what goes bump into the night.

Family, you are all important to me. I am the oldest of four children. My brother just left for a deployment to Cosovo. Me and my sister April have both deployed overseas more than once. It is not a joke. Currently the baby is stationed for a second phase of training in the Southwest. Whether we are near or far apart, our bonds are firmly established. Family, once the bonds of family is broken or severed, it is very difficult to repair. As we enter into this holiday season, I want each of you to take inventory of how far you have come. Your family does not have to be biological. Some of us come from various backgrounds, cultures, dysfunctions included and otherwise. If you are blessed to be able say that you have a close friend that you can trust, that is family for you. Appreciate those who can say to you with an open heart, mind and soul that they love you. That is a rarety in these days and times where the most beautiful as well as the most priceless word in the world is misused, abused and totally misunderstood. Unless God builds the home that covers, sustains and provides for your family, you are laboring in vain. Look underneath the tree of your heart. What type of presents do you have giftwrapped? Is it tinsel covered malice? Garland tied resentment? Mistletoe smothered in unforgiveness? A 25 lb pan full with a turkey and stuffed with hatred? Collards simmered in the fat of envy? A sweet potato pie colored with jealousy? Or a red velvet cake made moist with bitterness? I didn't paint a pretty picture because all of those things are eaten during the holidays with tea, lemonade and a smile. So before the holidays arrive, take stock, what are you bringing to the table when you fellowship? You shouldn't have to make room for more foolishness to add to your "spiritual waist". Keep yourself lean and trim throughout the year with the Fruits of The Spirit and showing love for each other. So by the time the holidays come around, you will be filled with all of God's favor and then some by the new year.

Monday October 26, 2009

On yesterday, I had the distinct honor and privilege of going to see a concert of the senior musical choir at my home church. I believe that I have shared with you that my father is the musical director/musician for my home church. I remember when I was growing up I would marvel at how my father would sit down and peck at the piano with notes until he formed a song that turned into his gift and a full fledged ministry. When I started writing poetry, I heard sentences in my head. I would see words in my dreams. I would hear words and phrases in songs on the radio. So I have gone from ignoring those words in my head, to writing them down, to sharing them as gifts with friends, to shyly submitting to certain contests, to completing a volume of poetry, to having seven volumes of poetry, to reciting poetry, to now maintaining this website. So God has a purpose for us family. We just have to be obedient, (stay in our lane because God doesn't need a driver) and follow where He leads. So for those of you that have gifts, yield to God and watch Him work through you. Your labor will never be in vain. Trust me.

Sunday October 25, 2009

On this glorious day that our Father has made, don't forget to say thanks to Him for protecting you from all dangers seen and unseen. Don't forget to thank Him for blessing you when there was absolutely positively no need to bless you. Don't forget to say thanks to Him when He woke you up and someone did not make it this morning. Simply, don't forget to say thanks.

Saturday October 24, 2009

" O how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity". It is a wonderful for thing when brothers and sisters unite in fellowship. When all hearts and minds are clear, so much can be accomplished for the kingdom of God. When are hearts and minds are clear, connected and on one accord for the same purpose, miracles take place. Try it! You will like it and will want to continue coming together in the spirit of truth and love.

Friday October 23, 2009

I hope that today's inspiration finds each of you in the best of health and spirits. This afternoon, I am cooking for a few folks in the squadron who have returned from being deployed. I have been cooking for the squadron since 01'. My daughter asked me last night why am I cooking for these people. She said that there are several fast food restaurants at their disposal. She also stated that there are several people who probably don't appreciate what I do anyway. All of what she said is true. Yet I asked her if there is more than one way to minister? She said no. I asked what are we supposed to with our gifts? She said use them. I said okay then. Family, you can't ration how or when you use your gifts, especially when it comes to ministering in the kingdom of God. By using your gifts to minister, no matter what it is that He has blessed you with, you unlock and unblock blessings that He has in store for you and your family. Just in case you are wondering, I am cooking leq quarters, Boston Butt, Macaroni and Cheese, String Beans, Spiced Apples with Sweet Potatoes, Pasta Salad, Rice, Bread and Sweet Tea.

Thursday October 22, 2009

How many of you know or have experienced the "haters"? I am talking about those people who go out of their way to offend or criticize you and others. I am talking about those people who have the audacity to come to you or are bold enough to say amongst others what they plan on doing to you simply because you have favor? I am talking about those people who believe that their main goal in life is to place obstacles in your path so that you can stumble constantly? I am talking about those people who smile in your face but behind your back they are maligning your character in the hopes that others will look at you in a negative manner? Okay so you get the picture? The bottom line is this: Jesus had haters. He was crucified and ridiculed for no reason. Yet he persevered because of His relationship with our Father in heaven. When you have an active relationship with our Father, He takes care of our haters. He dispatches angels that He has assigned to us to protect us. He grants the Holy Spirit permission to intercede, to intervene on our behalf to prevent the haters from succeeding. Sometimes He will even allow the haters to succeed so that He can ultimately have His glory.

Wednesday October 21, 2009

Family, God has not forgotten you. If God told you that He will take care of your situation, your circumstance, your problem, your dilemma, God will do it and it will come to past. You have to keep the faith and don't get discouraged. Keep praying, keep fasting, keep believing and trusting in God. Just be still and know, be patient and God will honor your prayers.

Tuesday October 20, 2009

Its so hard for me to fathom that we have two more months and we will be looking at a new year. As I look back on this past year up until present day,I have definitely survived on His grace and grateful that He has never closed up His bowels of mercy. It's cliche but when I look how far God has brought me, I can't help but say thanks to Him. There are so many times when I look back and realize that there is no way I could have made it without Him. There are so many times when I look back and understand that God was all over that situation, that circumstance. God always has the master plan. He can never be duplicated. He is often imitated but there is no identical twin to God.

Monday October 19, 2009

Greetings family! I hope that my inspiration finds you in the best of health and spirits. The season is changing here in the South. I want you all to know that just because the season changes, you can still remain firm and stand strong on your convictions and beliefs. God is omnipotent and He will not lie like man. His word is impenetrable and filled with His promises. Stand still and know that God is all that we will ever need.

Sunday October 18, 2009

I participated in what used to an annual family concert about two weeks ago. My grandmother was honored for being the matriarch of generations of children, grandchildren great and great great grandchildren. Flowers to your family members that are a legacy, come in all forms and shapes. My grandmother sung a song entitled " Stay Under The Blood". Grandmother is living under God's grace right now. Family, take advantage of the opportunity that you are afforded to bless your parents with a phone call saying I love you. Bless your children with a hug and a kiss every morning by telling them that you love them as well. Love is such a small word but it should be used wisely. Love should be shared and given generously. Love should not be shelled out as a token or a bus pass. Love can cause families that were hurting to be brought together. Love can take the pus out of old emotional wounds and bring about healing. Love can take the coldest air in a home and bring about a permanent warmth and peace that will make an electric company green with envy. Love can take an impossible situation and turn it around to be made manifest into the possible and it becomes reality. God is love. Love is God. We all said a prayer and thanks to God for allowing my grandmother to be alive so that she can see my children as well.

Saturday October 17, 2009

I was reading an article that was posted on CNN yesterday. Allegedly a judge in Louisiana denied a marriage license to an interracial couple. I thought to myself is this 2009 or have we stepped into a time warp? Family first of all love has no color. What if God decided in His omnipotence to bless only a certain group of people? What if Jesus decided to come down off the Cross for a certain group of people? What if He stayed on the Cross and only a certain group of people were forgiven of their sins? God shows no partiality when it comes to blessing, forgiving, mercy and grace. So what is our issue here on Earth?

Friday October 16, 2009

Last night I hosted my monthly open mic event. I spoke on domestic violence. Family, I was amazed at how domestic violence has impacted the lives of some of the people that I have known for a few years. Violence is not acceptable in any form. Abuse is not acceptable in any form. Violence/abuse is not the answer. I know that when you hear stories of violence or abuse, some of us are quick to say, " I know if it were me, I know what I would do". Unless you can or have walked in those pair of shoes, you don't know what you would do. I also know that for those who are victims, have relatives that are victims, are you simply know someone who is going through or has died as a result of a domestic voilence/abuse situation, it would not or does not matter how much you talk. Until that person comes to terms with trying to equate violence/abuse with love, all you can do is pray for them. God created each of us for a purpose in His image. Our purpose is not to be abused or mistreated in any manner. There is not a place in the Bible where it states that God accepts-allows-enables-demands-preordained- for any of to deal with a domestic violence situation or circumstance. For those out there who are dealing with domestic violence or any kind of abuse in a relationship, I tell you from my heart that you are worth more than a closed fist that is used to hurt. You are worth more than the harsh words that have been spoken. You are simply worth more than what you are dealing. Get out of that situation by going to someone you can trust. God loves you and so do I.

Thursday October 15, 2009

How are you looking at life? Do you see lemons or lemonade? Do you see the pits or a bowl of cherries? Do you see a jigsaw puzzle with impossibly scattered pieces? Or do you see a beautifully put together landscape? Do you see broken vase or pottery that is enhanced over time that increases it beauty and value? You get the picture? Its not what you see but how you look at it.

Wednesday October 14, 2009

On this cool, rainy day here in South Carolina, I want to share a quote from Blaine Lee that I feel is appropriate on this day:

Any change, any loss, does not make us victims. Others can shake you, surprise you, disappoint you, but they can't prevent you from acting, from taking the situation you're presented with and moving on. No matter where you are in life, no matter what your situation, you can always do something. You always have a choice and the choice can be power.

Tuesday October 13, 2009

Today is October 13, 2009. Webster's defines the word "superstition as this: A belief or practice resulting from ignorance, fear of the unknown, trust in magic or chance, or a false conception of causation. (B) An irrational abject attitude or mind toward the supernatural, nature or God resulting from superstition. (C) A notion maintained despite evidence to the contrary. Now that we have dispensed with all of the formalities, how many of you believe in superstitions? There are some things that my grandmother and other relatives told me that still hold value and credence today. However, their wisdom is always lined up with the Word. If you can't line up what you see, hear, smell, taste or touch with the Word, then it holds no power.
So instead of throwing salt over your shoulder, knocking on wood, avoiding cracks in the sidewalk, pick up the Word, read and apply daily.

Saturday October 10-Monday October 12, 2009

I come this morning to let you know that God will never put more on you than you can bear. God is a problem solver. He will never leave those who believe and trust in Him alone. Our tears that are sown in sorrow will be reaped in joy. Our prayers spoken in the wee hours of the morning are special because He does not need sleep because of His omnipotence so He hears prayers that are whispred and those that are verbalized in anguish. God knows our hearts so He hears the thoughts and prayers that are often to painful to voice. God hears, sees and most importantly knows all. Lean and Depend upon Him. He is not like man so when He promises, He will deliver.

Friday October 9, 2009

As I was sitting at my desk on yesterday morning, I was blessed with the opportunity to minister to a young woman. She is "almost 16" and obviously had some very serious issues with self confidence and self esteem. She confided to me about a condition that she has that bothers her. I explained to her that she is beautiful. I told her that if she wants to see a change in the behavior of people around her, she has to first change her attitude. Family, its unfortunate but life is not fair or polite. Life can be cruel, demanding, harsh, horrific and almost brutally unbearable. Yet, you have two choices when faced with a bowl full of lemons. You can continue to eat them raw and have a sour disposition. Or you can take them, squeeze them, place them in a pitcher filled with your positive attitude, determination, energetic mindset and have you a nice, sweet and refreshing glass of lemonade. Don't allow your circumstance, situation, problem, issue, concern, dilemma, trial, tribulations to reduce you to the point where you are unrecognizable. The storm can rage but don't let it over take you. God always has a way of turning what we think are our weaknesses and turning them into our strengths. God has a way of using those traumatic, devastating moments in our lives as testimonies so that others can have that ray, or catch and take hold of a glimmer of hope. God has a way of twisting what seemed to be insurmountable odds and turning them into stepping stones. God has a way of doing things. Just remember that when man says no, its not possible, God has the final say.

Thursday October 8, 2009

Good Morning Family! I hope that my email finds you and your family in the best of health and spirits. Life is so precious. You or your loved ones can be here in front of you one minute and the next day they could be taken away in an instant. I have been the ears of so many people this week who have dealt with the pain, hatred and bitterness of their past for years. Forgiveness is vital to our existence as a child in the kingdom of God. You can't accept Christ into your life, acknowledge that He died on the Cross for your sins and not embrace that He died so that WE can be FORGIVEN of our sins so that we can LIVE and not die. If there is pain in your past, disappointments, loss or any death that has played an impact on your heart, let it go, forgive them and live.

Wednesday October 7, 2009

Good Morning Everyone! Its officially over the hump day as it has been affectionately dubbed. For those of you who like to indulge in complaining first thing in the morning, or generally that is your nature throughout the day, I want you to press pause for a moment. There are some who went to bed last night and are not waking up this morning. There are some who woke up this morning but won't make it to work. There are some who woke up this morning, but can't give their loved ones a hug or a kiss. There are some who can hear their loved ones but can't see them. There are some who can't hear or see them but they long to tell them something as simple as I Love You. There are some who are like my son, do the best they can to give me a hug but it's not like a hug that a "normal person" would give. There are some who desire to move their legs but can't because they don't have any or they are unable to because of health reasons. Some desire to simply perform menial tasks like brushing their teeth or washing their faces but they need assistance. My point is instead of mumbling, griping, complaining about what is not happening or what you can't do, imagine life if you could not speak on what you wish would be happening. Count your blessings daily. Walk into the miraculous.

Tuesday October 6, 2009

I hope that this inspiration finds you in the best of health and spirits. Family, how many of you are still holding on to grudges or things that someone has said or done to you in the past or recently? I can stress or reiterate enough the importance of living your life to the fullest. Your life is a precious gift that cannot or should not be lost or mismanaged with anger, hatred, malice or resentment. The time and energy that you waste on all of those negative feelings could serve a better purpose of loving, caring, hugging and encouraging someone or yourself. These days and times are not just critical economically but emotionally, physically, mentally but most importantly spiritually. The eyes of God are always watching us. Smile at the world and it will smile back at you.

Monday October 5, 2009

Greetings Family! I hope that all is well with everyone. I am sitting at my desk on this cool rainy day, wishing that I was at home in front of my fireplace and relaxing with a good book or movie. Fortunately for us, we have comfort no matter the weather, the season, the hour, and/or event- occasion in our lives. Jesus prayed to God and asked Him to provide us with comfort in His absence. The Holy Spirit is still alive, well and with us today.

John 14:16

" And I pray the Father and He shall give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever".

Sunday October 4, 2009

I grew up in a Southern Baptist Church. I constantly heard the term: " I am a mere babe in Christ". It wasn't until I got older that I realized how detrimental those words were when spoken into the atmosphere. Family remember our words have power. We certainly grow from infants to adulthood. So why would we stay or be content as " a mere babe in Christ"?

1 Corinthians 3: 1-4

" And I brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now ye are able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?"

Saturday October 3, 2009

I was looking at the news the other day and listened to this tragic story of a mother who lost her son to the swine flu. He was only three years old. I can't imagine being Mary back in Biblical times. To witness the cruelties that my Son had to endure in order that not just me but the world could have life? I can't even begin to fathom the amount of humility, the anguish and many other emotions that she experienced as she watched her Son be crucified. As a parent, I can say with utmost confidence that I do not want or desire for my children to go through any hardships, trials or tribulations. Yet I know that in spite of what they will possibly have to go through, God will get the glory. My children are gifts. They are simply on loan to me. So I pray and ask God daily to protect them. I ask God to give me the wisdom and knowledge to handle whatever comes up as I strive to do my best on a constant basis.

John 20: 16-17

" Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God and your God."

Friday October 2, 2009

Good Morning Family! I was looking through the Bible and I came across the "real" Lord's Prayer. It is totaly different from the prayer located in Matthew 6: 10- 13. The prayer that I am talking about is located in the Book of John 17:1-26. In this prayer, Jesus prays first for himself and then for His disciples. Then He prays for all who believe. He realized as He prayed that He was going to be crucified, resurrected and finally exalted. To be able to pray a prayer and receive revelation and confirmation to me would be the ultimate. Family when you pray, as indicated in Matthew 6, pray with an open heart. Pray so that you are decreased and God is increased. Pray so that peace is received before you move from whatever position you are in as you are praying. Pray so that you can truly hear, listen and apply what God would have for you to do. Simply humble yourselves and pray.

Thursday October 1, 2009

Greetings Family! I want to encourage each of you today. I want you to know that it doesn't matter what you are going through, it doesn't matter who said it, it doesn't matter who did it, it doesn't matter where it happened, it doesn't matter how it happened, it doesn't matter why it happened. YOU CAN MAKE IT! You can make it whether or not your parents, your friends, your loved ones, spouses, children, stormy weather, sun or rainbows, dark clouds hanging low, YOU CAN MAKE IT! As long as God is on your side, trust and believe that everything will be alright.

Tuesday September 29-Wednesday September 30, 2009

Good Morning Family! I hope that my thoughts finds each of you in the best of health and spirits. I am sitting here listening to some Boney James and reflecting on how fast this year seemed to simply fly by. I turned 40 this year. My parents also reached a milestone by turning 60. One of my younger sister's turned 30. My other sister turned 24. My brother is 38. My children which are on loan to me by God turned 20, 14 and 8 respectively. Why am I talking about our ages? Here is my point: It does not matter where I go, what I am doing, who I see, why I am doing something, how I got there, nothing, absolutely positively nothing can beat or compare to God's grace, His mercy or His love that He shows to us consistently, in spite of our faults or shortcomings.

Monday September 28, 2009

Greetings Family! I want to share a few golden tidbits with you today:

1. Never say " I don't have time for God.

2. If your spiritual life is healthy, under the power of the Holy Spirit, praying at all times will be natural.

3. In seeking God, in crying for His help, each time must be with your whole heart.

Sunday September 27, 2009

Good Morning Family! It's all about God. He has the power to destroy. He has the power to defend. He has the power to build. He has the power to uproot. He Has The Power. Period. End of story. He has love, grace and mercy all in His wonderful, unmatchless, awesome Hands. Once we understand that its not about us, its about Him, things will began to go a lot smoother in our lives.

Romans 9: 17

" For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show My power in thee, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth".

Saturday September 26, 2009

Family as I sat at my desk on Friday morning, I began to reflect on our country's history. Our history has been fraught with wars, ancestral mistakes and generational woes that has passed down from century to century. God's Word was preached, foretold and came to pass back then. His Sovereign Power is still as magnificent and as awesome in this millenia. Please be mindful of His Word and His power. Take advantage of His bowels of grace, mercy, compassion and most importantly His love that He blesses us with every day.

Zechariah 1:2-5

"The Lord has been sore displeased with your fathers. Therefore say thou unto them,Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord. Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live forever?"

Friday September 25, 2009

Happy Friday everyone! I went to a restaurant with a friend and our children. As we completed our meal, we each opened up our "fortune cookies" before leaving. My "fortune as well as my daughter's were very similar and somewhat accurately reflected the events of this past week. My friend's daughter's fortune was what I found most interesting. Her's simply said don't put off for tomorrow what you can accomplish today. Family, I will take it one step further, if you can handle it today, do it. You can never predict what the next day will bring.

Proverbs 27:1

" Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

Thursday September 24, 2009

This is morning, I will come straight with the Word. In these days and times, it will appear feasible for some or even more convenient to keep your wallet and all of your goodies close to chest. How many of know that when you bless someone or others, it will come back to you tenfold? If you close up your bowels of mercy with others, God will do the same for you. Don't be a fool. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you with discernment on how or what to bless others with. Love covers a multitude of things. Compassion is something that if a driver can share to a dog in the middle of the road, you can pass it on to others, even in this recession.

1 John 3: 17-18

" But whoso that this world's good and seeth his brother have need and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us love not in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. "

Wednesday September 23, 2009

Hi Family! I decided to keep it light today and share a few truths that were passed down to me recently. I hope that you enjoy and apply them generously.

1. Faith is the ability to not panic.
2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.
3. Prayer is like calling home everyday.
4. Blessed are the flexible. They shall not be bent out of shape.
5. Do the math. Count your blessings.
6. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.
7. Laugh every day, its like inner jogging.
8. The most important things in your home are the people.
9. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
10. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
11. Be more concerned with your character than reputation. Your character is who you really are while your reputation is merely what others think of you.

Family, I pray that you are encouraged and blessed by these truths.

Friday September 18-Tuesday September 22, 2009

I hope that my inspiration finds each of you in the best of health and spirits. I apologize for the delay in the encouragement. Have you ever known someone to settle for less than what they deserve? I mean to sacrifice their happiness, their peace, their joy for a tiny bit of sunshine? You know that first piece of bread on a loaf? Most people will discard that because its not formed or shaped like the rest of the loaf. I would rather eat the end pieces than to deal with a whole loaf that is molded. Don't settle, don't compromise, don't make do because you feel (without researching)that there are no other alternatives. We were created in His image. God's hands has designed some beautiful vessels. So why destroy your temple unnecessarily with conflict, confusion and all other forms of negativity?

Proverbs 17:1

" Better is a dry morsel and quietness therewith, than a house full of sacrifices with strife."

Thursday September 17, 2009

Good Morning. Has something ever happened in your life wherein you just wanted to curl up in a ball and hide for more than just a little while? All you can do is whisper His name and beg or mercy while you are going through? Family, sometimes all it takes is murmuring His name and asking Him to protect you until the clouds pass over.

Psalm 57:1-2

" Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will i make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high that performeth all things for me."

Wednesday September 16, 2009

Greetings Family! I hope that today's inspiration finds you in the best of health and spirits. I was standing in my front yard on yesterday with my children. I saw two cars across the street from my home looking at a house that is for sale. As they passed the second time, I was just getting ready to go back into my home because night was beginning to creep in slowly but surely. Two women stepped out of their vehicles respectfully and started asking questions. I ended up ministering to this woman who appeared to be low in spirits. After speaking to her, I was led to pray for her and we stood in my front yard, stood in agreement and prayed. I gave her a hug and walked back into my home. My daughter received a call and I ended up ministering to a woman during my daughter's phone call. Family just when you think you have problems, there is always someone in a worse situation than you are. If you can't open your mouth to speak life or something positive, then keep it to yourself. In these days and times, its healthier for you and all those involved to lift someone up then to put them down. Your willingness to give someone hope in their time of need releases your blessings. Don't speak to just use your mouth. Use and choose your words wisely and from your heart.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

" Wherefore comfort yourselves together, an
