We offer 1 day, weekend and multi-day excursion-type workshops. Whatever your time or budget, we have a workshop that's perfect for you.

1 day Workshop
Visiting Monument Valley? Do you have time for an extra day to spend sharpening you camera skills or learning how to "work" natural light? Maybe you have very little experience photographing and you want to know how to really use your camera. Then join us for a 1 day workshop. we'll meet before sunrise and spend the day shooting in the valley. We'll renew old skills and learn some new ones as well. If we have our way, we'll finish off shooting one of the grandest sunsets on the planet.

Weekend Workshop
Got more time and a keener interest in photography? Then spend a weekend photographing the valley and the beautiful Navajoland surrounding it. We'll shoot from sunrise to sunset each day and hone our skills with practical excercises in between. We'll also add a print review. With the extra time, we'll get to visit little known places beyond the valley. Our ultimate goals will be learning more about photography and adding as many breathtaking images to your portfolio as possible. We offer a variety of weekend workshops in several different locations. Join us for an experience you will never forget!

Multi-Day Photo-Excursions
Do you have a desire to see and photograph as much of Navajoland as possible? Do you enjoy all-inclusive style travel? Then leave the details to us and focus on adding treasures to your portfolio every day. We'll take advantage of available light and keep a flexible itinerary in order to maximize our opportunities. We'll shoot the greatest variety of locations and subjects possible. We'll cover basic and advanced techniques and have lots of extra one-on-one time for indivdual instruction. Best of all, We'll have extra time for specialty intructors and guests. These workshops typically last between 7 and 9 days. This is the photography trip of a lifetime!

I'm very pleased to annouce the addition of our most exciting workshop experience yet! Light & Fast! This is a new style of workshop which is part photography workshop, part adventure tour and all fun!

For years I've tried to find a way to involve others in the approach that I use in shooting the remote, beautiful American Southwest. Now, with the Lite & Fast Workshop series you have the opportunity to truely shoot the way the pros do and take full advantage of this dynamic and rewarding environment!

The high desert is a challenging, ever-changing environment that can be extremely rewarding when approached with the right mind and skill set. To fully take advantage of the opportunities present, one must be willing to be flexible and adaptable to the ever changing, sometimes harsh conditions. This requires a sound knowledge of your environment and it's characteristics. It requires a knowledge of local topography, weather patterns, basic astronomy, route-finding over varied terrain and a knowledge of local culture. You must also develope an instinctive understanding of natural light and it's interplay with various landscapes. All of these things are what I consider to be essential ingredients of the successful landscape photographer yet they are rarely ever taught or even dicussed in outdoor workshops.

During the Lite & Fast Workshop:

We'll take a multi-faceted approach to landscape photography and focus on unique situations. We'll scout and shoot in very small groups in remote, little known areas and focus on individual style and approach. We will move from location to location quickly and take advantage of available light. We will learn on-the-go and in-the-field as a team and with a very flexible itnerary.
