Clints Biography
I am a Trophy Bass Guide here at Lake Fork, Texas. Started fishing Lake Fork back in 1987. I remember leaving, with my father, for the lake at four in the morning and not returning for the next 30+ hours. Which explains where my expertice at catching lunkers at night came from. Pictures show me in his lap growing up and I obviously had this great sport in my blood. I started fishing some of my first tournaments at age 10. I enjoy fishing tournaments, but I am very picky about which ones I fish, always have been. I learned all I could about this great lake all thru the late 80's into the late 90's. After graduating high school and a time in college I joined the U.S. Navy. I wanted to volunteer a few years of my life, 8 to be exact, to this wonderful country that I love so much. I was stationed with 3rd Battalion / 4th Marines in California as an Infantry Medic. Also did a tour in Maryland at NAS Patuxent River. While touring the United States I always fished everywhere I could wet a line. I learned that there are people just like us all over, enjoying bass fishing. I had a Marine friend that was from California and had fished its lakes all of his life. He and I spent alot of time on many California waters. I'll never forget my first trip with him. I showed up with a 7ft. MH rod, Abu Garcia 5500 and 20 lb. Mono. He laughed and said I would never get a bite on that gear out there. He was right, and so I had him teach me this West Coast Drop Shot thing. It is a great way to present a bait and works great here at Lake Fork.
Maryland is my second favorite place to fish behind Lake Fork. The Tidal Potomac River is awesome. I fished with a man I met while buying my wife a new car. I saw he had a picture of a new bass boat on his desk and told him I would sign for the car right then if he would teach me the Potomac River. We will now be life long friends. He and I fished many local tournaments on the East Coast. That tidal water is hard to learn if you have never fished it. But, I learned to master the art of flipping, pitching, heavy cover, close quarters fishing, etc. there. That river has a shallow water bite, year around.
I married Kerstin, my wonderful wife in 2000. We had my beautiful daughter, Emmah in 2003.
Being a Guide here on Lake Fork is great. It has been so neat to take the knowledge / techniques I learned from around the Country and apply them here.
I have a great personality and I enjoy meeting new people. I work very hard to have the top of the line equipment and a pattern for my clients. I cherish every new client I get. I want you to enjoy your day with me, catch huge fish and lots of them. Lake Fork Day and Night Guide Service is here to stay. Book a trip with me and I will show you why!
