About Me:
Jaleesa Wilson is a Level 10 gymnast who lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born on June 5, 1991 and began gymnastics at the YMCA when she was 2 and 1/2 years old! Jaleesa trains at Superior Gymnastics in Morrisville, NC with coaches Krystal Kramer and Andrey Ageev. The upcoming season will be her fifth year at level 10. She also competes for Panther Creek High School, coached by Krystal Kramer. Jaleesa will graduate from high school in 2009 and will attend college in the fall of 2009 on a full athletic scholarship.

Jaleesa has achieved many sucesses during her 15 years in the gym. She has been recognized for State, Regional and National honors. Sadly, Jaleesa suffered from a torn achilles tendon in January of 2008 and missed most of the season. However, she is well on the way to a comeback in 2009!

A Fun Fact:
Jaleesa was given the nickname 'jbyrd' by her coaches when she was 9 because of her quick reflexes and tumbling ability.

Favorite Things:
Jaleesa loves goofing around with her cocker spaniel mix, Midnight. "He's so crazy!!" She also loves bike riding and chatting with her friends online.

Memorable Gymnastics Moment:
2005 Nationals/Floor Exercise - Jaleesa rebounded out of bounds on her last tumbling pass and sat on the judges' lap ..OOOPS:-)!

After College:
Jaleesa wants to pursue a career in sports medicine/athletic training or sports management/coaching. She also hopes to one day be in a position to give back and help less fortunate kids pursue their sports dreams.

Most Do Not Know:
Jaleesa played violin for several years and loved it. She had to give it up in 10th grade when her new school did not offer the class. KEEP ARTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS!
