More Ideas.......

Cowboy Hats
Children love to decorate straw cowboy hats, available from us. Set up a craft table where they can decorate their hats with stickers, glitter, puffy paint, beads and buttons. Then take a Polaroid or Digital photograph of each child to glue on to their hats.
Cowboy hats turned upside down are perfect bowls to hold chips, animal crackers, pretzels etc. on your picnic tables. Place a bandanna inside them to look more festive!
Picture Frames
Another idea is to make horseshoe shaped frames out of cardboard that they can decorate and then display the Polaroid of themselves riding the pony at home. Gluing a magnet on the back lets them hang it on the refrigerator.
Brownie Cones
Instead of baking a cake, how about a non-messy Brownie Cone? Take vanilla ice cream cones, fill with pre-packaged brownie mix and bake for the time specified on the box, then frost. It's like an ice-cream cone cake!
Calf Roping
Pick the largest stuffed animal you have and have the kids try to "rope" it with clothesline for a roping contest!
Horse Show
Played the same as Simon Says, but say Trainer or Cowboy says. Kids can walk, trot, canter and jump small obstacles. Give out ribbons to the winners.
Stick Horse Race
Purchase dowel rods at a hardware store. Print off coloring pages of horse heads that the kids can color. Then staple the pony heads to the dowels, pick a starting spot and they're off! (Be sure to print one copy as a mirror image so you have two pony heads!) Paper Bag Sheriff Vests
Use paper grocery bags, cutting out a vest design and have the kids decorate them...Adorable!
Gold Rush
Use any container filled with sand (you can buy playground sand at the hardware store), add pennies and dig for "PAN FOR GOLD" using hands, pie pan, beach sand sifters etc.
Decorate Horse Shoes
New horse shoes can be purchased at many hardware stores or local feed stores, kids can decorate them using all types of craft supplies...they make great party favors and really cute picture frames.
Bales of Straw
Wonderful for theme decoration as well as picture backgrounds and additional seating.
Needle in the Haystack
A Party Favorite!
(a little messy, but very fun) undo a bale of STRAW and make a mound, hide treasures for the kids to find. The piles are great to hide small favors from the dollar store in! Simply break open and fluff up two or more bales of straw and hide small toys in the pile. Children absolutely love playing and digging through the piles to find their toys! Almost like piles of leaves in the fall to jump in!
Bandannas
Bandannas are perfect for putting all the candy from the pinata in and also for favor bags.
Bandannas tied on long sticks like hobo bags are very cute and easy to fill with party goods.
Bandannas inside cowboy hats that are turned upside down to hold chips, animal crackers, pretzels etc. are festive on your picnic tables! These really add to the theme and look great on tables before the kids take them home.
Pin the Tail on the Pony/Donkey
Always a Party Favorite!
Pass the Pony
Hot Potato- but use a toy horse!
Cowboy Hat Toss
Kids try to toss a cowboy hat onto a rocking horse or stuffed animal!
Paper Cup Shoot
Line Paper cups up on your porch railing and have the kids "shoot" them off with water pistols. If it is windy put a few candies in the cups!
Horse, Horse Pony
Duck Duck Goose for Farm Parties!
Cupcake Walk
Kids walk around a circle (to western music of course!). When the music stops, they stop on a numbered horseshoe. The birthday child draws a number and the child on that horseshoe wins a cupcake!
Memorable Calendar:
Have the kids draw or decorate an 8.5 X. 11 piece of paper and put there names on it, after the party, take to printing shop and have bound together atop calendar sheets...the birthday child can be reminded of their great birthday and friends all year.
Sack races and three legged races:
Tie the legs with your bandannas. Sacks are available at most party stores and even Walmart. Always a favorite party activity!
