CH Elfwish Tristin CD at the 2005 PWCCA National Specialty

Corgis and Butterflies
I was introduced to the Pembroke Welsh Corgi when my mother and friend decided I needed to look at them as a companion and possible show dog. I met Elfwish Tristin at 6 months of age at the Elfwish Kennel (Donna Francis and Sandra Wolfskill). The legend goes that as a puppy, Tristin was chasing a Monarch butterfly around the kennel yard and actually caught it. He then opened his mouth and it flew out safely. A few years later while competing in an obedience trial another butterfly flew in front of him and he chased that one around the ring. When he made the ring safe again he returned to my side and completed his competition. He actually won the competition that day and finished his obedience title. Then as a Veteran dog in 2005 at the PWCCA National Specialty a butterfly joined us as we traveled up/down the ring. Tristin went on to win Best Veteran at 13+ years and earned an Award of Merit. So butterflies and corgis are very precious to me.

The Present
Currently Encore Corgis is home to 6 adult corgis. Getting the best spot on the couch is BISS CH Encore G. Loomis. He is my first home bred Specialty winning corgi. Look for pictures of him under the "Boys" section.

The Future
When we turn our thoughts to the future we are very particular with our breeding program. Our animals are OFA'ed, Cerfed and VwD tested before being bred. We are looking to improve the soundness and structure of the breed. We are always mindful of the tempermant. Look under the "Puppy" section to see what is happening in the whelping box.
