Rock University™ brings together young musicians who play any instrument, and creates a real band in just 5 days. This performance based camp focuses on understanding how to arrange and orchestrate your favorite cover songs as well as learning how to write your own original songs in a real rock band. Your band has 5 days to come up with a band name, logo, and then have your first concert. You'll need to write, rehearse and record the music, then create the artwork and promotional posters for your first CD....with your first concert at the end of the week. The band will be guided by professional musicians with more than 20 years of experience in the music business.

The Classic Rock Package!

Piano Rocks! Guitar Rocks!
The Classic Rock Package: No experience needed (Ages 6-9 years)
These 2 classes are the perfect introduction to the keyboard and guitar for younger beginners 6-9 years old. This week long class meets every day adding music themed art projects into the mix. By the end of the first day....students will be playing their first songs. We'll learn about note names, rhythms, G clef and F clef and begin learning how to read music with dozens of fun songs to choose from. At the end of the week, students can share their favorite songs with family and friends in their first concert. Keyboard students will have access to an online practice support website with instructional videos, song demo videos, and downloadable audio files for them to play along with at home long after this week has ended. These are 2 separate classes but if you decide to register your child for both, there is a 10% discount off of the second class!

Art from Around the World!

In this unique camp we will be setting out on a trek where each day is be filled with adventures in Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, North America and South America. We will see the art, hear the music, and create our own interpretations of what we find! We will finish our week with a beautiful visual presentation that is accompanied by the music sung and played by those in Music from Around the World!

Just like the Art from Around the World! we will be visiting all of the continents on the planet. The difference is we will be creating the music that brings those cultures to life! The program at the end of the week, you will see how the art and music intertwine and bring out the heart of the cultures and places we have explored.

Songwriter's Studio

Writing your own music is one of the greatest things about learning how to play an instrument and Songwriter’s Studio helps piano and guitar students easily understand the music theory that makes songwriting fun. It doesn’t matter if you listen to Beethoven, Billy Joel or Adele, this camp will help you learn how to compose the kind of music that you like. We’ll look at melody lines, chord progressions, song structure and lyric writing with fun exercises as we work towards composing your first hit single or your first symphony. Campers are encouraged to bring in their favorite songs on CD or iPod so that we can listen to them, and learn what songwriting tricks were used in writing them. The camp will be guided by professional musicians with more than 20 years of exprience in the music business.

Songwriters Inspired!

In this innovative camp we will be learning from the masters! We will hear every kind of music including classical, jazz, broadway, pop, classic rock, and more. Each day we will work from this inspiration paired with visual art from the same period, music theory, and history to create music based this broad range of styles. As the week runs on each student will choose their favorite, and will create a piece for the program at the end of the week
Artists Inspired!

In the perfect pair to the Songwriters Inspired! camp, we will explore all the music from the Songwriters class while emphasize the visual art. We will see the work sculptors and painters from the Romantic, Impressionistic, Abstract, Post-Modern, and so much more. Through this inspiration each student will create their own work to be presented as a visual reflection of the Songwriters presentation.

Movie Music Camp!

Get ready to play your favorite themes from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Frozen and anything else you can dream of! We will even have a performance for your friends and family at the end of the week! Musical experience is great but not required. We hope to see you there!

Movie Composers!

If you love listening to all of those incredible movie scores you will be entranced by this camp! We will not only be learning the music to these movies, but we will be composing our own music to go into what these movies mean to each student. Each student will pick a movie score that the entire class will listen to and discuss. Following this we will explore the elements of the score, what instruments were used, and how the melodies affected the emotions of the audience. Each student will then compose their own melodies to evoke their favorite scenes. As always we will be presenting the students work at the end of the week!
Movie Artists!

In this camp we will be exploring our favorite films and the behind the scenes artists that helped create them. We will explore the various kinds of art used in each film and how we might start to re-create it and build upon it. We will put together a visual presentation like no other, which will be accompanied by the music produced in our Movie Composers! camp.

Super Singers Vocal Camp

If your child walks around the house singing all the time...this is the perfect class for them to join. We'll learn some vocal techniques and practice tips, learn how to sing harmonies, and even compose your own lyrics and songs. You'll also get some basic piano instruction too this week and learn how to play several songs by the end of this camp. Get ready for a concert on Friday that you can invite your family and friends to!

Broadway: Singers!

In this camp we will learn a variety of ensemble pieces from all of your and your child's favorite Broadway hits! We will explore the choreography, history, and music of Broadway and put on a show for you at the end of the week!
