Our Beginning
My love affair with dogs began at an early age when my father brought home 2 Beagle-mix puppies and a paperback book about dog training from the local vet’s office. There was a chapter in the book about dog shows, and I was FASCINATED. We acquired an Irish Setter puppy the following year, and, after just one puppy match, I fell hook, line and sinker into the world of dogs and dog shows.

My first Corgi came to me in 1975, and with the help of his breeder, I finished his championship, obedience titles, and did well in Jr. Showmanship. Several more Corgis passed in and out of my life as I moved from teenager to college student to young career woman. In 1987, I was accepted into membership in the PWCCA and chose the kennel name “Brynlea” (a combination of my nickname and some lovely imaginary place!)

Our Goals
At this point, I decided to pursue a lifelong goal – to establish a small Corgi breeding kennel focused on developing a line of sound, healthy and good-natured dogs with a “look” that would stand the test of time. I was lucky enough to find the right foundation dogs to make this possible, and those 2 dogs, Ch. Brynlea Rivendel By Design and Ch. Otrek’s Herman Josephs, ROMX, can be found in most all of my pedigrees to date. They were truly great dogs in all respects.
Some highlights along my path thus far are breeder/owner/handler of regional specialty winners, many champions and Group winners, and several top-notch and Nationally ranked performance dogs. I have also had the pleasure of several Sweepstakes judging assignments for regional Corgi clubs over the years.

Our Philosophies
While I take great pride in my accomplishments in the “dog show arena”, I also feel very strongly that a Corgi should FIRST be the Champion of one’s heart……….and, in order for this to be possible, all of my dogs are kept as housepets and members of our family. Only those that excel in temperament and robust health are included in my breeding program. All that aside, it is also important to me that those dogs should be conformationally correct! Litters are carefully planned and each puppy is evaluated for placement with the family most suitable for a lasting, mutually beneficial relationship.

Our Invitation
Please take some time to "visit" with some of our Corgis here on my website; study our puppy page for valuable information on purchasing a Corgi puppy, and keep in mind that the very best way to learn about the breed and the breeder themselves is to schedule a visit with them.
