Dear Marcia, What can I say except to say the Sophie is a delight. Not to brag, but she is smart, alert, not nervous and is very loving. What else could one ask for in a new puppy. In both airports, Ft. Lauderdale and Dallas people turned their heads as we went by. One lady asked me is she was a therapy dog. She followed us thought the airports and traveled like and experienced travel-fell asleep on the flight. She was not car or air sick. She has settled down nicely to her new surroundings and people. On Sunday we had a family dinner with the girls and their dogs, Baxter-( Golden retriever and Beeper -Japanese Chin. She had a great time. Of course, everyone fell in love with her and could not believe how social and smart she is.Having waited to get a dog, she is more than I expected. I could not be more pleased. It is all in the great handling and great breeding. I cannot thank you enough for how wonderfully you handle all the dogs and pups. Without that good start, I do not think they would be so social and relaxed with people and other dogs. I will do everything to keep that up. Sophie is starting basic puppy training on Saturday Feb 27 for an hour. I met with the trainer and he thought she was very well adjusted for such a young pup. She knew her name the first day and sat on command the second day. I handle her a lot- all over her body including ears and mouth etc. She is very relaxed and gentle. As I am sending you the e-mail she is asleep at my feet. She is my pretty little shadow. We have a routine- She is now sleeping through the night- has a morning nap and afternoon nap is her crate. I have to tell you this. Last night at 8:20 P.M. she galloped down the hallway to our bedroom where her crate is. There was no stopping her. She flew right into her crate. She was telling me -I AM READY FOR BED! I could not stop laughing. She is too smart. That is all for now and I will keep you in touch with her progress. She is a beauty and we all could not enjoy her more. I have sent you a slide show with a few pictures of our pick up and with our youngest daughter Vivian meeting Sophie for the first time on Jan. 28,2110. The weather has been rainy on and off. Edwin has not forgotten what he promised to send you. I am sure you will have it by the weekend. It was so nice seeing you again and best to all of you at Bay Lake Doodles. Pat and Edwin

Marcia has been a very experienced dog breeder and Owner for many years, she cares for her pups in the house and has their best interest at hand. All of the Dams have a private room and facility to have their babies in her house, not outside. This is very important step in making sure that the pups are well socialized and given lots of attention daily. There is nothing Marcia would not do to make sure all medical and social skills where administered during this time. I have not seen one person that did not admire her dogs and love being in her home to greet them. If you are looking for healthy Dams and Sires she has them and she will spare no expense in buying the best pedigree and testing them for sound healthy parents and taking care of them. Marcia's dogs can be found thru out the US and overseas in Germany too. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog. I have helped her and worked with her for years Dr Billy Austin ****************************************************************

Hi Marcia - just wanted to let you know that Lira is doing soooo good - she is sooo sweet and very adaptive to the environment here of it being just her and I. She already knows when I have to type for an hour or two at a time and doesn't bother me at all. She had her first vet visit and did great - she has met the next door neighbor dogs and is fine with them. We play and exercise in the yard and go for little walks as well - I don't know what you did but whatever it was is great since she doesn't mind the crate at all and has already gone to the door to let me know she has to go out into yard to do her business. I know it's only been a week but she is great and for the afternoon quick nap she and I snuggle on the couch together. She doesn't have full run of house just yet but has plenty of room in kitchen and yard etc. When Mike was home and we were eating, she went into her crate on her own and fell asleep! Mike and I just laughed and said "thanks marcia". This will turn out to be one of my better Christmas's and I thank you so much for allowing that to happen. I wish you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year. I will send some pics soon - Thanks again - Debbie Smulcheski

From Marge in Florida : hi marcia--just wanted to update you on casey--after his first full week with us.
what a darling, sweet, smart little boy!!! he is continuing his prior learning of potty sessions. he lets us know when he needs to go out--he goes to the door, (in either my bedroom or the kitchen, depending where we are at the time) and goes outside- down the steps across the patio- to where our dog door is -- and then i open the screen door to let him out into our dog run which is all florida rock. (he can't push through the dog door yet, but at least he knows where it is and watches our golden go through it. he's doing so well!
personality wise--he's just the hit of all who come to visit (as well as us). he gets along with bailey, our 9-10 year old golden. bailey will tolerate all his playing, and climbing on him, but definitely lets casey know when he's had enough. actually bailey is a great teacher for him-- they really are so cute together.
i took casey to my vet yesterday--not for any reason--but just to have him meet casey. he said that aside from everything being fine, he was a great looking puppy. of course you and i both knew that! i wanted the vet to meet casey before he needs his shot. he didn't particularly like the car ride, getting sick on the way there, but coming home he was fine. we have purchased a travel crate so that i know he's safe in the car. casey enjoys feeding, weighed 8.9 pounds at the vet. all is going so well! we are thrilled to have casey as part of our family, and wanted to just share that with you.
i'm sure you're extremely busy with new pups etc., but wanted to to let you know how his first week has gone. marge 11/11/09 Ref from Dawn in NY to New Buyer : Good Morning Sally, I am sorry for your loss. I am sure that Freddy would approve of a new companion for both you and your husband. I would be happy to provide a glowing endorsement for a doodle from Marcia @ Baylake. I have recently just fallen head over heels for my new best friend "Cooper". He is a 6 month old micro mini Labradoodle, who lights up my world every single day. Marcia sent him to me this past July. She has been such a joy and breeds amazing doodles. I provide her with new pictures and updates on his growth every so often. Cooper stops traffic everywhere he goes. He is an extremely confident, intelligent, bubbly and well adjusted little puppy. He lights up the room the minute he enters. He just loves people, and is great with children and babies and loves to play with his friends in the park. He also enjoys playing with his brother, who is a 14 year old 17 pound cat. One of my best friends has a female medium doodle from Marcia that must be about 8 or 9 months old and has that same doodle personality that Cooper has and is absolutely gorgeous too! She and Cooper played together in the swimming pool this past September when we went to Texas for a visit. I have spent my entire life raised with dogs as I grew up on the Dog Show circuit, but I have to say of all of the breeds that I have experienced (Golden Retrievers, Yorkshire Terriors, Lhasa Apsos, Shitzus or Old English Sheepdogs), he by far has been the best puppy with the best personality. If you have any specific questions or would like to give me a call, please do not hesitate. Good Luck! Dawn H. Puro Assistant Vice President Ironshore Services

Hi, Marcia! Katie is a rock star in my hospital. The psych patients love her! Last week a therapy group of teenagers mobbed her and rolled around on the floor with her, all patting her at the same time and calling her name. Being the glutton for affection that she is, she basked in the attention. Another night a patient was crying uncontrollably, curled up on the floor. Katie ambled up to her slowly and helped her feel better, letting the patient hug her and talk to her. Every time I bring her in to visit patients and staff, Katie can make at least 50 people happy. Not bad for a couple of hours of work! Someone at the hospital is writing an article about her, and if it’s good, I’ll send it on to you. Hope all is well, Cyd Rev. 9/09 Marcia, Moose is the best dog in the world. We love him and he loves us! My husband is just crazy about him. We went on vacation and saw a chocolate labradoodle like Moose except he looked “dusty”. His dad was an apricot poodle, very interesting looking. How much should we feed Moose? I give him 1c in the morning and 1 c in the evening but he seems hungry! He weighs about 50 lbs. He is very smart, he can shake, high five and knows come, stay, down, and drop it. He still terrorizes the cat, although the Siamese antagonizes him to no end. You are right. Neutered male dogs are the most loving. You are the Best Marcia he is well trained before we got him Cecilia 6/22/09 Hello there,

Alfredo 6/17/09 Hi Julie, My name is Jonni Betancourt and I live in e Ft Lauderdale. I own a 3 year old Baylake Doodle who is an absolute charm. I personally know Marcia and can attest for her honesty and the integrity of her breeding. She loves all of her "babies" and they are coddled and well cared for. My labradoodle, Shaman, is a certified therapy dog, twice over and he passed his Canine Good Citizen Certifications from the AKC on his first birthday. His intelligence and his sweet disposition was just the perfect mix for my family and his chosen profession as a therapy dog. Please let me know if you have any questions for me, as a consumer. Thanks! Jonni
6/9/09 Dear Marcia, We are enjoying our little puppy so much! We decided to name him Henry, and he has quickly become a member of the family. He has wrapped himself right around our hearts, and we know we made the right decision to adopt him. He's a smart little thing! He loves sleeping in his crate, sleeps through the night about every other night, knows how to "go potty" outside, and hasn't had any mistakes inside in a few days. He also knows how to "fetch" and over the weekend, has realized that if he brings the ball back to us, we'll throw it again. This has quickly become his favorite game! We're beginning to work on some obedience training, and I have no doubt he'll pick it up quickly. He is playful, adorable, very social, and has the sweetest disposition - plus he loves to snuggle. We are very grateful for the way you raised him the first 10 weeks of his life. He isn't afraid of the dust buster, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, or thunder. I suspect he will actually enjoy the 4th of July, unlike any of our previous pets! Thank you again for everything you'e done for Henry and for us! Talk with you soon! Ellen & Paul Demetree 6/6/09 Bay Lake Doodle goes to Israel to live : Hi Marcia, Well, Bob, Stroodle and I got home safe and sound despite the absolutely horrible rain. Stroodle just threw up one time at the beginning of the trip and then he was just the best boy! He slept in my arms just about all the way home. He's lying down now in our family room. Once in a while he whines a little bit, but I guess he's missing his 1st Mom-YOU! Bob and I are just loving him more and more with every minute that goes by. I'm so glad we finally met and hope to see you in Israel real soon. I will never forget you and how wonderful you are. Thanks for everything and especially our new little boy Janice and Bob 5/19/09 Kay writes to a new buyer of Ours Karen, we have 3 of Marcia's labradoodles. They are perfect dogs for a large family.....playful, clownish, goofy, smart, and loving. They love the dog park , chasing squirrels and birds, the dog beach, and get along very well with other dogs. All have distinctive personalities and get along well with each other. Jib - 4 yrs(far right) will chase/retrieve a ball until he drops. Maggie - 3 yrs(center) is a prissy loving little girl who became a mother to Cajun -1 yr (left) and then best friend. We call them Frick and Frack because you never see one without the other. All were very easy to housebreak. All Marcia's puppies are raised indoors; each has a name; and Marcia knows the personality of all. After we got Jib, we asked her to pick out our puppies. Because she trains her puppies to use a doggie door, Cajun came to use housebroken. He automatically used the dog door even in the middle of the night. If you have any more questions, please email me. Kay

Hi, Marcia---Katie passed the therapy dog test on Saturday! I think she'll be working with me at the psychiatric hospital (which is also where my office is located). Just have to get in all the paperwork. The only area where she didn't pass was walking by the toys and leaving them alone. Hope all is well at your house. I see from the photos on your website that you were able to part with Mango. Bet that was hard! Cheers, Cyd Thomas Texas 4/28/09 Message from the Hevners on their Doodle Experience Hi Marcia, Just a note to thank you so very much for the extraordinary amount of time and patience you gave to our family, last weekend, as we made the painstaking decision, regarding which, of all of those adorable puppies, to take home. You are just so exceptionally warm and genuinely friendly. My family and I agreed that we have never met anyone more suited to their profession than you. What a wonderful safe and secure haven you have created in which to raise all of your “babies.” We were just so completely impressed with all of it. We also really appreciated all of the help you were so ready and willing to give to us when we initially thought we might like to keep our puppy with you until the end of the school year. (We are glad we came to our senses and brought him home, now, and did not wait. Thanks for being so flexible in that regard too.) It doesn’t end there, you also graciously invited us back for our puppy’s second round of shots, you gave us food for him, even medicine for him, toys and blankets for him and went so far as to temporarily lend us a baby protective gate. Your generosity is just astounding! All of us absolutely loved getting to know you and hope that from time to time we can continue to stay in touch with you. Needless to say, we have fallen madly in love with our puppy. He is so loving, so sweet, and thoroughly enjoys human interaction. Honestly, he is everything, and more, than anything we could have ever hoped for in a puppy. Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you, it has been a wonderful experience to work with you. We feel very fortunate to have found you and want to assure you that we will enthusiastically refer any friends to you should they be in the market for a Doodle. Rest assured that we are and will continue to be your greatest fans forever more. P.S. I would love to tell you our puppy’s name but we have not yet agreed on one. I will tell you the list of names we are considering. Fletcher, “Fletch” for short, Ozzie, because Dave thinks his hair looks like that of Ozzie Osborne, Oliver, “Ollie” for short, or Brooks. Will keep you posted when a final decision has been reached. One more thing, the diarrhea is all but gone. We took your advice and, just as we figured, it worked! Thanks again! You are definitely an angel in disguise. Fondly, The Hevner’s Sandy, Dave, and Kari 4/6/09 WONDERFUL NOTE FROM MARDI ABOUT HER OLIVER DOODLE Hi Marcia, Oliver is incredibe. He knows all of his toys by name and will bring them or put them back in his bucket if asked. He also brings a cloth after each meal to have his face wipped. Then, when he puts it back 'on the chair' he gets a cookie. He likes to tease me by tossing the cloth on the floor, but there are no cookies til it goes to it's right spot. I can teach him almost any new task in under an hour. I just show him what I want him to do and he picks it up right away. He's almost scarry, he's so smart. Just wanted to mention that Kyra, our rescue dog, is with us due to a very serious heart condition. Miracles do happen but she is not expected to live more than a year or so. I mention this because we will want another dog as a companion for Olie later on. If you ever have an ADULT doodle that needs a loving home, at least get in touch with us. Depending on the situation, it might be the right time. love to you and all your doodles, mardi Mardi Crane-Godreau, PhD Research Assistant Professor Department of Microbiology and Immunology Dartmouth Medical School 3/09 Marcia, thanks so much for the beautiful Easter wish! Also, thank you for working with my friend Lori Van Meter. She is a very kind person, and she met Opie and loved her! Opie has that affect on everyone. I am trying to restrain from getting another puppy from you, another little bitty one, until I can afford to spend the money!
I just have to tell you that Opie is such a Godsend. I have had a tough time in many ways, and she is all sweetness and light. She probably gets sick of me picking her up and kissing her and cooing to her, but I can't resist. I bring her everywhere, and she's so good. If she has to stay in the car, she just goes to her little space and sleeps. She'd rather do that than stay home. I love her so much, Marcia. Thank you for giving her to me.
Happy Easter to you and your loved ones. You are a wonderful woman! Donna
1/19/09 Hi Marcia, It’s now been a little over 3 years since I brought home my Labradoodle puppy, Aussie, and I must say she is still the BEST and SWEETES dog ever. When I ever have to leave town my friends actually flight over who will get to take care of her for a weekend, even over the holidays. I now work for a company in Austin, TX, PetRelocation.com. We provide complete Door to Door relocations for peoples pets across town or across the globe. I specifically handle the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Every time I have a customer that has a Labradoodle we never have enough amazing things to say about our dogs; and what’s great is Aussie gets to come to work with me every day! Very exciting news that the Obama family may be getting a doodle as well, the First Doodle! Any time I hear of anyone looking for a doodle puppy, if they live in the FL area or not, I always recommend that they check out your website. I am attaching a recent picture of Aussie for you and I can’t thank you enough for the most wonderful dog ever! He is now 13.5 lbs and is doing awesome! Our vet could not stop commenting on how beautiful he is and what a great coat he has. Do you want me to email you our reciept to show the shot he had? We have to take him back in three weeks for the next round. Oh, he is fully potty trained and has been using the doggie door to go outside on his own. He just loves playing with our Bichon and taught her how to use the door also. Thanks for being such a wonderful breeder and bringing such fantastic puppies into the world! Karen REFERENCE Letters Below: 10/1/08 Hi Grace. I assume that you wanted information about Baylake Labradoodles and Marcia. We purchased our first Labradoodle, Gypsy (F1B), from Marcia back in 2006. Like you, we searched the Internet. I ultimately sent an email to Marcia of our interest and then had several telephone conversations with her. At that time we found her a very caring person, both of her "critters" and of the homes they went. Gypsy was everything we could have imagined and more. In 2007 we lost Gypsy's companion, a Japanese Akita male named Suribachi. 'Bachi was an adult when Gypsy came to us, and Gypsy was so socialized with other dogs that they took to each other immediately. As I said, we later lost 'Bachi and waited to get Gypsy a new friend. In May of this year I contacted Marcia again (we had kept up with her via email), and told her it was time to get Gypsy a playmate. We where originally going to get a pup that she had that someone had backed out on, but upon taking the pup to the vet for a last checkup, the vet and Marcia felt the pup might not be what we were looking for - we have seven grandchildren, ranging from 18 months to 13 years. We were concerned about having another dog with a perfect disposition. When Marcia contacted us we where devistated...we were so ready for this puppy. Instead she offered us one she had held back for breeding purposes -- needless to say, we love our Penny. She is also a F1B, a chocolate, and absolutely fantastic. What a personality! I thought Gypsy was special; Penny is twice what Gypsy is! I don't think you can go wrong with a puppy from Marcia and Baylake. We live in Magnolia - Northwest of Houston. I don't know what area you are in, but please feel free to contact me, 'specially if you'd like to meet our girls! Regards, Susan Gyldenege 9/26/08 Cindy Adopted Shawnee my Parti Labradoodle at 3 yrs old. Shawnee had given me 2 wonderful litters of Parti Labradoodles and was a real love and joy to me, I am trilled Cindy has fallen in love with her ! Just an update on Shawnee & me . I looooove her. Okay she is by my side day and night. She hasn’t had another accident in the house since the first day. She cuddles me, takes lots of walks with me without pulling me, lets me brush, and primp her, sits, lays down, heels, and is just starting to play catch. She seems happy, wags her tail a lot, never barks, and sleeps with us. She was the right match. I don’t know how it happened I was so worried about getting a dog. I didn’t think I could get exactly what I wanted and I would be sorry I got one but I must say she is the answer I was looking for. It’s been two years since my little girl died and I couldn’t bring myself to try again. Well she (you) has answered my prayers. I can’t tell you how happy I am you allowed me to own your amazing, loved, sweet girl. She is in good hands now and you don’t have to worry about her anymore. She will be going to the beach this weekend to swim. We will see if she likes it. She will be spoiled rotten from now on! Thanks for being such a good 1st Mom. If you hadn’t been she wouldn’t be so wonderful. Thanks, Shawnee’s 2nd Mom Cindy 9/2/08 From Bruce to Paul ref Hey Paul, 9/1/08 Dear Paul Approximately 3 weeks ago we picked up our first labradoodle from Marcia and I just wanted to say that she has been AWESOME, they are definitely a special breed. Prior to purchasing our pup I talked and visited a few other breeders and I can say I am very pleased with my decision and very happy to have found Marcia and her wonderful dogs. John Hooper & Mindi Hooper Dear Paul My doodle, Lady Godiva turned 2 this summer and I love her to pieces! She is from a chocolate mom and Cody, an apricot dad. We live in Texas and Godiva has become very comfortable in my neighbor's pool! She loves to jump in and swim. I am not sure if you talked to other breeders but like some of the other folks who sent you emails I was VERY particular and talked to breeders all over the US. I had Great Danes for several years and I wanted a rather calm breed. Marcia was very patient answering dozens and dozens of questions and never ever pressured me to purchase a dog from her. Several other breeders out right lied to me. I learned a great deal about the breed from Marcia. She is the best. She kept telling me my dog would develop highlights but I couldn't imagine. I thought you might like to see a pic of my doodle as a pup and grown w/ highlights. She has alot of silver as well as blonde/ apricot colors. She is beautiful. Can't tell you how many compliments I get on her. Like the other folks I have seen lots of doodles and very few compare to the quality and personality of Marcia's pups. They just aren't from good blood. I went to her house to pick up my pup and all the dogs and pups are very well cared for and loved. My little girl had been romping around the house with the other dogs and she already knew how to use the dog door! When I brought her home she never once had an accident in the house. She is very smart and very social. I think the reds are very unique and beautiful. I hope you enjoy your puppy half as much as I do mine! Don't hesitate to ask any questions. Best Regards, Barb Ross
8/15/08 Hi Marcia, We took Oliver to the Vet on Friday. He thought he was just beautiful and had never seen his color before. He was very impressed with him and said how healthy he was and that he was in good shape. Got his next set of shots and he was feeling crappy for most of the afternoon but by night he was a fireball again. We've been using this Vet for about 18 yrs now and really like him. Oliver is 17.5 lbs.-getting big! We start 'Puppy Classes' on the 26th and are taking him to a free training seminar tonight just so he can see other dogs and people. Just wanted to keep you posted, I'll send some pictures in the next few weeks when I get this thing to work, though I guess you have his brother there and it's just like a picture. I heard he's a little pistol too. take care, Jean Dear Paul: 8/8/08 Hi, Barb here. I live in Highland Village about 20 miles north of Dallas. My doodle, Lady Godiva turned 2 this summer and I absolutely love her. I thought you might be interested to see a "baby" picture of her and a more recent one. It is hard to imagine how the color and fur can change so I thought that might interest you. Godiva has a choc lab mom and apricot father (Cody). Marcia kept telling me her coat would lighten but it didn't seem possible! Not only does she have the blonde/ apricot highlights she also has beautiful silver colors. You can see that if you look close in the picture w/ the bunnies we rescued. I can't say enough good things about Marcia and her dogs/ puppies. I owned Great Danes for years and was very concerned about changing breeds. I had a bazillion questions that Marcia patiently answered for months before I decided to buy a pup from her. After bringing Godiva home I still had questions and Marcia was always there to answer. I have been in her home and seen how the dogs and pups live and you could not ask for a better environment. They are all socialize and loved. Godiva never once had an accident in the house because she learned to use a doggie door at Marcia's watching the big dogs. She knew how to use my dog door immediately. She is extremely smart and loving. If I can answer any questions please don't hesitate to email me. I have dozens and dozens of pics and would be glad to send more if you are interested. If you are half as happy as I am with my doodle you will be thrilled! Kind regards, Barb 8/3/08 From Vicki & Scout in Anderson SC We're doing great. Scout continues to be world's greatest Doodle Dog. Thing is ~ he doesn't realize he's a dog and that's just fine with us. I had 4 Labs in my prior lives and I never thought I'd have another breed. Now ~ after having Doodles ~ there is no other breed for me! Take good care. Vicki 8/1/08 Hi Marcia, Patti from New Orleans, just had to tell you how much I love Magic, he is beautiful smart, funny and my love, thank you so so much for raising a wonderful Doodle for me, will keep in touch and send pictures of Magic and Gretchen Red Doodle RUDY too. I am very particular about people and where I buy things and you made a believer of me thanks for being honest and a great dog breeder with lots of loving care that goes into your pups. Patti & Magic of course
July 15th, 2008 Hi Marcia! We send you greatings from Magnolia, TX, home of two of your wonderful Labradoodles. Penny is such a wonderful little girl. Everyone who has any contact with her, from her groomer, to her vet, to the people working at PetSmart - they all want to take her home with them. What a charmer she is. She and Gypsy are my "Wild Women"...they have so much fun playing together. For your records, Penny was spayed and micro-chipped today. She was a good girl for the vet and even seems perky right now. How can anyone resist those beautiful brown eyes! Thank you again for being such a wonderful breeder and caring for your "furry family" the way you do. Susan and Godik
July 11th, 2008 Hi Marsha, hope all is well with you. Just wanted to update you on our schnoodle, Snickers. I took her to the vet Wednesday and she got a good bill of health. As you had anticipated, she didn't have any worms or other parasites. Our vet was quite taken with her and wanted to keep her. She is a healthy 6 lbs. What a wonderful dog she is. She is truly gifted. She knows how to sit and lay down already and hasn't had an accident in her crate yet. Our big schnauzer has accepted her and protects her. The younger schnauzer (age 3) is a bit more reserved, but is coming along. I gave your name and email to a co-worker of mine whose mom is looking for a labradoodle. I couldn't stop raving about how you care so much for your dogs and it shows in the quality of the puppy. Take care of yourself and all your "children", Love, Debbie Baron June 16th 2008 HI Marcia, I have been meaning to write to you about Commander Samuel Vimes, the brown and white Labradoodle we got from you August 2006 . He was bred from Apache and Shawnee. What a wonderful dog! He is my fifth dog and is definitely the best. There are negative things you could say about him : He doesn't shed at all, has no odor, doesn't whine, cry, beg, bark, fight or be aggressive. I have taken a piece of chocolate out of his mouth with no trouble. He is a very friendly dog and has no aggressive tendencies with any other animal or person. And Commander's positive attributes: He was first in the obedience class. People all over town call his name when they see him. Everyone asks about him and says he is the most beautiful dog they have ever seen. He is so much fun to play with, but if you aren't ready to play, he makes up his own games or lies quietly at your feet. He is almost silent around the house and never wild or out of control. A kennel attendant remarked that she had never seen a dog who could concoct so many fun games and play by himself. (You should see the wily pine cones he stalks, captures, and recaptures when they sneak away.) He has no trouble sharing toys. He will let a strange cat eat his food and drink his water. One small problem, although not to me, is that he thinks he is a lap dog. And about 10:30 at night you can see him eyeing your lap and he starts climbing up in the chair with you. I think it is the sweetest thing in the world, but he is 60 pounds. There are not enough words to let you know how perfect this dog is. My husband did not want a dog. All the other dogs we've had he never touched or played with. Now he is totally in love with Commander. They sleep together, watch TV, ride in the car, and my husband can't keep his hands off of him. He just keeps saying, "I love that dog!" Every week he says, "Don't you think we should get another one." So maybe you should let me know if you breed Apache and Shawnee again. Thank you for this wonderful addition to our home. Samille Jordan Hi Marcia HI Donna, 5/15/08 We are on the east coast in West Palm and have a 1.5 yo male labradoodle and our newest addition is a 10 week old female goldendoodle (to join our other three little dogs!)When we decided to get a same-sized goldendoodle playmate for Nutley our labradoodle, Marcia did not have a litter available. We searched several reputable breeders but in the end waited for Marcia’s litter. The primary reason is Nutley is the best dog. He is the most calm, sweet dog and we felt that we have first hand knowledge of temperament which is critical with the medium to larger dogs. I’ve heard horror stories, once as recently as a week ago, from people with “crazy, wound up doodles.” I can tell you that Abbie, our new little girl shows the same quality traits as Nutley. She’s a puppy and will do puppy things, but the second we ask her to stop, she immediately does ~ such intelligence. I’ve visited Marcia several times and each time she has welcomed me and my children into her home and allowed all the time needed to pick our pup. She’s always available and truly cares for her dogs. I’ve seen her choose not to breed her “pick-of-the-litter” pups because as adults they didn’t meet her stringent standards. I would highly recommend a mini-doodle from Marcia. Feel free to call me if you want more specific information. Linda Murphy 561 262 6153 5/2/08 We got our 2nd Doodle from Marcia and we just love her as much as we do our 1st one 6 yrs ago. Thank you so much Marcia for raising the best dog there is ! Healthy and full of love and affection. You do an amazing job, we would not consider any one but Marcia since we know her committment and love that she purs into these doggies. Being a Vet I know quality when I see it Dr. Lynda Steinbeck, DVM Baltimore, MD Marcia we want to tell you that your love and dedication to these puppies can not be matched, for someone that has as many dogs as you do, they all love you and respect you and listen to you. We were amazed and areso so happy with Gidget our new Golden Doodle. She is smart, loving, doggie door trained by you of courseand the best we could have asked for. We would not take a million for her. Thank you for loving these pupsand giving them the best start in life. I know we would never consider going to anyone but you and recommending you and your Doodles. Here is recent picture of her with me at Cabin Jana & Mike Selleck North Carolina 3/08 Marcia I have attached pictures of Riley and Tiger's dog Yogi for you as you can see they are wonderful together and well loved. We want to thank you for everything you did to raise Fine labradoodles. The whole neighborhood loves these dogs. We do too ! 4/2/08 Marcia, My wife and I have not updated you on Otis the Shnoodle (we picked him up in February of 07) who keeps me in line on the farm every day. Attached is a picture of Otis a healthy, happy 37 lb farm/house Shnoodle. He has been such a joy and is so full of personality we had to share his wonderful progress. I am sure you get notes like this all the time but you do a good thing and we have benefited in such a wonderful way from all of the hard work you have put into your breeding programs. Thank you. Brody, Lydia, and Otis Swedberg
3/15/08 Dear Angie, thank you so much for replying to my mail. I am sorry to hear Marcia was in hospital. I am sad to hear she was unwell. I truly hope that whatever the problem was it has been resolved and I will definately keep her in my prayers. Maybe she can email me when she feels better just to know she is well. Tia is great. These animals have Marcia's trademark on them and they stand out a mile from any dog I have ever seen. All my neighbours come by to say Hi to the new puppy and as I compare their dogs to Tia she is in a different class all of her own. She has a sweetness and a peace about her and I can never forget Marcia whenever I look at Tia. It is almost as if Marcia has left a little piece of herself in each and every one of her puppies. Again may God bless you both and keep you in good health always. Soula Simaan. January 12th, 2008 We wanted to tell you that we are so happy we found you as a breeder, all of your references check out so swell and everyone said that you were the best in Florida and all over. Now we know because Layla is the best pup we could have ever asked for, she is smart, sweet and very kind. At 5 months old she is fully trained to sit, come, stay and you name it, thank you a hundred times over marcia for breeding great Doodles, we will want another this summer to keep Layla Company, perhaps a male puppy . We wil lsend photos in next email when Jay gets his camera back. Janice & Jay Comer Vero Beach, Fl 12/31/07 Hi Marcia, My cup runneth over...I think that about sums it up. We have the best puppy in the whole world! He can sit, fetch, and now we're working on manners (shaking hands). Oh yes, we are working on "stop" which means he is to stop what he is doing and sit. He sits with Jaden during his therapy sessions which makes my heart melt to see them together. That is 3 hours a day, both of them have to be still. I'm proud of both my boys. Our families could not believe how awesome he is. He has met many people so I feel great about socialization. I need to get him with puppies though. Jaden has a communicator with 3 buttons to push, each about the same diameter as a coke can. One says, "Mom, Valentino is biting me."; the other, "Good boy."; and then, "Mom, Let's play." Valentino hits "Mom, let's play" too often for coincidence. You absolutely picked the right dog for my son. Thank you for all your efforts. Big hugs and Happy New Year, Tina, Houson Texas 12/18/07 Guess what!!!! Since we have had snow on the ground, she is totally housebroken. It is really strange. She just all of the sudden started going out there all of the time.
She does look like her mom with more lab facial features. She is 10-1/2 pounds now and the vet thinks she will maybe get a little taller and be right around 15 pounds. He says you sold me a very nice dog and delivered what you promised. I told him that I knew that already!!!!
See ya,
Julie 12/10/07 Marcia thank you so much for taking us in your home and showing us your wonderful dogs ! We loved each and everyone of them and can not wait to be part of your Doodle Clan there. We look forward to coming at 4 weeks and picking out our new precious pup, thanks for your expert advise and warm feeling we got meeting you. Cheers Helen & David Clarke Ft Lauderdale, Fl
11/6/07 Ana wrote in today about MANGO the Mini Doodle she bought from us:
Subject: Mango's First Obedience Lesson He is the most darling dog and smart little fella I have ever had thank you so much Marcia for a great puppy we love him
11/1/07 Kay writes:
We now have three Bay Lake Labradoodles and we love them, Marcia is wonderful breeder and we have been to her home many times, you will be impressed with her dedication to her dogs.
10/18/07 I found Baylake Doodles last Spring on the inter-net and after e-mailing Marcia regarding my interest in Schnoodles was invited to meet her and the whole Baylake Doodles pack. I only inteded to meet Marcia, see the grounds, get to know her dogs and maybe put down a deposit for a future litter. Well, as you can guess I came home with BooBoo Bear: aka Boous (her 10mos pictures are attached). Boo is the best pet ever. She is beautiful, friendly, playful, cuddly and smart all at the same time. I refer to her as a robot dog because she always seems to do exactly what I think a fun little dog should. She looks like a frou frou dog but she loves to play fetch, chew soup bones and wrestle with the kids. Boo is also extremely popular in the neighborhood. Some neighbors will stop their cars and get out just to give her a pat. She has even transformed some non-dog peopl e into Boo lovers who now regularly receive doggie kisses (even on their faces) and have allowed her to run free in their homes (she is 100% non shedding).8/23/07 Boo has been happy, healthy and adaptable since we got her. She is crate trained at night and stays in a pen when we leave her during the day. Boo loves shopping outings in her bag and has traveled with us to NY under the seat in front of me without any sedation. She just loves to be around people. We feed her Origen Puppy which is what Marcia suggested and she eats it right up. It is difficult to express how much joy Boo has brought to our family. My husband, 2 kids, 8 and 5 years old, and the rest of our extended family cannot get enough of her and friends keep offering to watch her if we need to go out of town. I hope that you and your family find a puppy that can bring you as much happiness and more. I also strongly believe that Boo is the way she is because of Baylake Doodles. The dogs that I met from Marcia's breeding program are amazing. Each of their personalities and physical traits were so distinct and the grounds and home that Marcia keeps for them goes above and beyond what I ever expected possible. I still check the website regularly so I hope to see a picture of you with a new pup!!! Sincerely, Sandy Sheiber
9/21/07 A wonderful Vet in Miami told a customer to check out Bay Lake Doodles, he had 5 clients and loved my dogs ! they were healthy, smart and great dogs. What a great reference that is. Marcia Batya Marks from California writes a letter to a new Puppy buyer: Hi Julie, You can rest assure that Marcia is the best Labradoodle breeder you can find in the US. We live in California and my family met Marcia almost 3 years ago. We searched the web for breeders and were so taken by the warm and caring way she raised her puppies that we flew all the way from California to meet her. We paid a down payment for our puppy, but when the puppy was born, we have decided it was too early for us to get a dog. Two years later, when we were ready, I came to pick up our dog. Marcia kept our file with a note about the down payment and honored the price we agreed upon, two years before, although the price has gone up. Our puppy, Joy, is 6 months now and when we walk her, everyone stops us to ask where we got such a beautiful-happy dog. It was sure worth waiting 2 years to get Joy and it was sure worth getting her in Florida. You are welcome to email me if you have more questions. Regards, Batya Marks 8/17/07 Hi God-Mommy Marsha! 8/12/07 Hello, Marsha! Just thought I'd drop a note to say hello and let you know how wonderful LuLu is doing. LuLu has completed a service dog training with St. Luke's Church and is now a Canine Crusader who visits retirement/nursing homes and hospitals. The residents REALLY love her. I've attached a few pictures for you to enjoy. Hope all is well! Stefanie
7/30/07 Hello! Just wanted to share a few picture's with you of our children with Lucy! We love her and she has been having so much fun with us.We just took her on a vacation to Ohio where she got to play with other dogs. She is getting bigger and she is soooo smart!!!We are teaching her lots of tricks! We will probably never have anything but doodles from now on!!!! The Baldrons 7/19/07 Hello my name is Jesse and I purchased my Doodle from Marcia, I was honest with Marcia and told her I wanted a well socialized puppy that came from a clean environment and was not born outside she assured me all her pups were raised under foot in her home and puppies do not go outside to play until they have had some shots and then they are supervised by her. Well... I visited two other breeders in FLorida on my visit there, as I told her I was going too, and there is no one I would recommend more than Marcia at Bay Lake Labradoodles, she loves her pups and adults and her home is clean , pups are in her house all clean and taken care of. I had to turn away from two other places, the flys, the nats and the un sanitary conditions and I was not impressed it turned me off, but if you want a great well socialized puppy she is the Breeder for you. thank you Jesse Caldwell 7/18/07 Hi – I am Diane, my husband & I live in Apopka. We adopted Rae, a black labradoodle, from Marcia in 2005. Rae is now 2 years. She is loveable, wonderful and smart, too!
Marcia is great to work with. She loves her pups – no “bones” about it! She wants to make sure they go to families who will love them. After you take your pup home, Marcia is always there to help, answer questions, etc. I am glad that we found Marcia and adopted Rae. She has brought much love & happiness to our lives.
Diane Here is a Neat email from Jonni that got one of Parti Doodles last year: 7/14/07 Hi Marsha! I wanted to drop you a quick line. Shaman won first place in the Petco Stars Contest at our local Petco Store in Plantation. How funny he was! He was such a ham! He did his little tricks for the judges and they clapped and had lots of oo’s and aah’s for his 1 minute of fame! His tricks are still very simple and juvenile, being his puppy mentality. What took the first place award, though, was his beauty. He rated beauty almost a perfect 10. (Of course I had him groomed yesterday! And he looks like a little oreo love muffin) I will try to scan the little picture they gave us and send it on. From here he qualifies to enter Petco’s national contest, but we are not going to do that. They put the dog in commercials and take all rights to his name and image. We do not want to do that. It would not allow us to bring Shaman to get advertising work for pay in the future. But we had a good day and we had fun! His birthday is this week so now that he is a year, we can test for therapy and CGC Certification. This is so much fun! I will let you know how we do. He is next to me completely sacked out right now….It’s tough being a star! Have a super weekend! Gotta skoot! Jonni 7/12/07 Hi We just love our labradoodle! We were in Orlando on vacation so we stopped to meet Marcia and see the dogs. We were glad to see that Marcia takes very good care of the puppies and that they are born into a home and socialized with humans. It is quite clear that she loves her dogs. Scout is our first labradoodle. He is a F2 and so far is showing no signs of shedding or allergy problems. I believe that Marcia really knows what she is doing and she has very healthy dogs. I like that she recommended the book The Monks of New Skete for help with training and understanding dogs. I highly recommend reading it. One last comment: when we went to the vet here in Memphis for Scout’s first checkup our vet mentioned knowing the vet in Orlando that Marcia uses. Our vet had lived in Orlando a while ago and said that Marcia’s vet has an excellent reputation, which made us very happy. Good luck on your decision. Maggie Burgan Memphis, TN
But I am so excited because I got a new job and I am so very proud of myself! It was a hard job to get and I worked really hard since I was 10 weeks old to get it. Drills, Drills and More Drills! But it was worth it!!!!! So the doodle deal is that today I became a Certified Pet-Assisted Therapy Dog (or in BayLake language: a Certified Pet-Assisted Therapy Doodle) for the Share-A-Pet Organization in Fort Lauderdale. Ruff! Ruff! How cool is that! And a couple of days after my first birthday, I was awarded my Canine Good Citizen Certification! WufffffWufffffOoooooooo! That was a really really hard test but I did so good my Mommy gave me a whole handful of my favorite liver treats afterward!!! Yummmmmmm! The lady who gave me the test said that for a one year old doodle, she thought that I was exceptionally gifted. That made my Mommy smile cuz she knows I am smarter than her sometimes!!! WoohoooooRUff! Today as part of my test, I visited some pretty old people (in dog years that is). They loved having a doodle around and to pet me and give me treats and tell me how beautiful I am. Some of them said I looked like a girl doodle so I told Mommy that she better make me a scarf with my boy's name on it! But I made them smile when I gave them kisses. Mommy told me that what it is all about. Giving back. That is what we are supposed to do. So I feel really good about my new job, God-Mommy Marsha! When I come to visit you again, I will wear my vest with all my pretty patches from Share-A-Pet, my TOP Certification and my CGC Certification on it! (We are waiting for it to come in the mail). You may even cry happy tears, like my Mommy did when driving home in the car after I got my job today. She thanked the Lord outloud for finding you and me. What does "so blessed" mean? HI, Linda. I wanted to respond to your recent email to Marcia about Gabby's pups. As you know we have two pups from Marcia. They are blonde and then our new one "Cajun" will be choc. We got Jib about 3 years ago and people tell us he is the best dog they have ever seen. He's laid back but not shy. A wonderful dog, very lab-like, loves to play ball and be scratched. He has a marvelous temperament. He has a course coat that resembles a terrier, rarely needs brushing or bathing. Maggie is two and is much more poodle-like. She's a real flirt...we call her Miss Grateful because she wags her tail at everything...loves chasing squirrels and giving kisses. Her coat is loose and wavy and she needs more brushing. We've never cut the coats of either. As far as shedding, they both shed some....but nothing like any other dog we've ever had. When they are on the sofa, there is very little that shows they have been there and is easily brushed away unlike other dogs. For me the best thing is they have no dog odor. So the house doesn't smell like dogs. We saw all the pups last weekend. The alpha Marsha mentioned is the biggest. All the other pups seem very similar in temperment and size. You can now see the difference between the curlier and straighter coat. That difference seems to be a personal choice. I hope this answers your questions. We think Marsha is a phenomenal breeder. Her dogs of the highest quality...her Moms are all English labs. They are very different from Am. labs. Am. labs are very high energy and frequently overbred. Marsha also keeps the pups inside her home (her kitchen, bedroom, everywhere) and loves them all so much. This attention really shows with the friendliness of the dogs. Good luck....I'm sure you'll love your new pup. Kay It's official -- Mango is the smartest dog in the world! The trainer took him out today for the first time and said he is highly intelligent and easy to train and she will need to step up her training program. He learned to heel and sit and stay. He also learned "leave it" and not to jump on people. All in one day. He's a genius. Ana Hi Marcia, just wanted to let you know that Mango will turn 1 tomorrow. He is the most wonderful dog in the world! I will send you some updated photos. He is about 32 lbs, short with huge paws, so I think he will always look like a puppy. He has never shed one hair. He is with me and Michael all the time and it works out great for all of us. He loves to swim, go for walks, ride in a car, play with squeaky toys, sit in his yard, and bark at ducks. He even likes to go to the vet and loves his groomer. He is the friendliest dog you can imagine. When we take him to a dog park he makes sure to play with every single dog and say hello to every human. Mango is an absolute joy. Ana Ana M. Buchenhorner Assistant to Michael J. Buchenhorner Michael Buchenhorner, P.A. Intellectual Property Law Please don't tell my Mommy that I spilled the beans...., but I wanted to whisper a doodle secret in your ear. (Sorry if I get your ear all wet...I love to kiss!) I live in Boca and adopted an F1 chocolate labradoodle from Marcia at Baylake in Orlando this past Thanksgiving. Suffice it to say that he is absolutely wonderful. Oliver is almost 8 months old, approximately 30-32 lbs. and doesn't really shed (his hair is very much like ours, so guess he sheds as much as we do). He is supper smart and affectionate to all who come within licking distance. He is enrolled in his first official training class and is doing beautifully. We also have a 13 year old mini schnauzer who loves Oliver very much. She lost her pal Montana, a 12 year old yellow lab the Thanksgiving before we adopted Oliver. I've been to Marcia's home several times. You will be hard pressed to find a more committed, intelligent, passionate and loving breeder. Her dogs live in her home, not in the back yard. She is devoted to breeding healthy, happy and well adjusted pups, large and small. FYI, a friend drove down to visit her dad over Christmas from Maryland. I met her for breakfast, showed her pics of Oliver, couldn't stop gushing about him, and she proceeded to get in touch with Marcia, stopped at Marcia's home on the way back to Maryland, and has since adopted a mini labradoodle. If you have any other questions you can reach me by cell phone at 706-7667. Debbie Kestenberg . We love our 2 year old Labradoodle, it was 2 years ago that we flew to Orlando to pick him up. It is one of the most memerable trips for us both, staying in a Westin in Orlando with this hunk of joy at 7 weeks old. Now he is a big 75lbs wonderful, smart, loving, easy going, gentle, fantastic dog. He lives with us here in Oregon where we try to take him and our cocker spaniel Abby to trips to the coast as I have sent you a picture of him on the bed at the coast last weekend, or the mountains and snow. He is best friends with one of our two black cats Tyson, and he is such a topic of conversation when we walk him as every one asks "is that a labradoodle??" our response is yes, and we got him from a wonderful breeder in Orlando. We are so thankful to have found you! Thank you for such a wonderful gem in our lives! Aleca- Oregon
In a word...EXTRAORDINARY! that is Marcia Our relationship with Marcia has bridged nearly 2 years. After a great deal of research and 3 wonderful Labs in my lifetime, we decided that a "Doodle" was our puppy of choice. I then proceeded to research breeders all over the country. I felt that the selection of the right breeder was as important as the puppy and I have not been disappointed. After e-mailing and talking with several breeders around the country, we decided that Marcia's philosophy and priorities fit with our own. In December of 2006, our F1 Doodle arrived and he was fabulous. Exactly what we wanted. Incredibly intelligent with the greatest laid back, loving personality ever. He settled in beautifully and was learning the basics faster than any Lab I had ever had. And then, my husband was offered a short term consultancy in the country of Bahrain. He was retired and this offer was totally unexpected. We weighed it very carefully and after a great deal of deliberation and sadness, we decided to accept the position and let Marcia take our darling puppy back and place him with another family. It was awful! We returned from Bahrain last March and shortly thereafter confirmed with Marcia that we were ready for another puppy. We wanted another puppy. She didn't have any at that time and we were content to wait. One fine day, she phoned me about an older Doodle from one of her great litters and Damns whose family could no longer keep him due to a move. Initially, we thought "no." We wanted a puppy. She described "Scout" and his damn and sire to us and we told her that we would think about it. Meanwhile, the owner was absolutely devastated about having to give him up. When we finally decided to meet him, she changed her mind and we all understood. A short time passed and she decided that she needed to do what was best for Scout. As we talked and corresponded, I ask her..."does he have any bad habits?" "No," she replied. "He's a perfect dog!" Hmmm, I thought. Is that possible? The "saga" went on for weeks and Marcia was with us every step of the way. She was incredibly supportive and helpful. In fact, she still is. We drove to Jacksonville one day and brought Scout home. He IS a perfect dog! I have had a few questions along the way and Marcia is always happy to answer them. She has called me several times. It would be an understatement to say that we highly recommend Marcia and her dogs. I believe that the fact that they are whelped in her home and live there until they leave for their "forever" homes is a huge plus. Also, the fact that Marcia has the knowledge of the breed so that she has outstanding damns and sires and they, in turn, produce fabulous puppies. She is ethical and very, very caring. What more can I say? You will never regret adopting one of her Doodles. Very sincerely, Vicki Anderson Hilton Head, South Carolina I see from the emails that you are getting, it's all positive feed back you need from people who got "kids" from Marcia. That's right, I said kids, because that is what they are. These dogs are so very special. Please allow me the time to tell you my story about our dog TY and how we found Marcia. About 3 1/2 years ago the wife, Amy (now ex) and I decided it was time to get a dog for our 2 boys. I had dogs my entire life and she was a cat person. It took many hours to get her to break down and give the go ahead for a dog. The search began, and she did all the leg work. While I had all types & sizes, from Great Danes to Beagles, I never heard of Labradoodles before. The size of the dog was a key for Amy, she did NOT want a big dog. These dogs were all over the news and when she heard that they don't shed, she started doing the real research. We were in Weston and were talking to some friends and they told us the next door neighbor just got a Labradoodle and we should got talk to them. Bottom line, the wife's Dad was vet and went to see Macia's place and gave his daughter the "thumbs up" on Marcia. Well, we that contacted Marcia, set up an visit and meet her and her "family". Amy was very pleased with what she saw and was really impressed with Marcia. We gave her a deposit right on the spot, picked out the parents, told her when we wanted the dog and signed the contract. We picked up TY in November of 2005. Ty is one the smartest dogs I have ever owned. He is great with the kids & all people, he loves going in the car, and is great when meeting new dogs. When I tell you smart, I kid you NOT!!!! I almost think he's smarter then my kids (LOL). If you have questions, just ask......... Bruce 6/2/07 We just found out one of our Doodles owned by Janet P. is now going to be in School as a Therapy dog helping under priviledged kids! Janet writes me and says : My labradoodle, Gino, has been working with the students at Visitacion Valley Middle School this entire year. It has been an informal arrangement, thanks to the support and encouragement of our visionary principal, Dr. James Dierke. He and I would both like to have Gino become an official school therapy dog. Our school is in a rough area of San Francisco and many of our students have difficult home lives. A large number of these students are wild about Gino: when they arrive at school in the morning, they seek him out for pats, belly rubs, short walks, and of course wet doggy kisses. 5/30/07 Hi Marcia, 5/15/07 WHAT A NICE COMPLIMENT FROM SUSAN From: Susan Thompson Date: 05/15/07 13:13:00 To: baylake@cfl.rr.com Subject: Hello from Boston - Puppies My boyfriend and I were looking at your website and your beautiful dogs. We are planning at some point to buy two labradoodles when we move south to retire. You have to be the most professional, caring and truly top notch person that we have encountered in our search.. We know now that when it is time, we will come to you. I wanted to get on a plane this weekend and come down.. but we are not retiring for another 1-2 yrs.. I might be able to get him down soon so we could come and visit your dogs. Do you have special times or days that you do that? Also, do you have any brochures or other information you can send us? I tried looking in the new england area for a breeder of labradoodles but could not find one.. even just to go and look. We definitely would buy your dogs.. If you do have any information, would you send it here to my work? Thank you so much. Susan Thompson Susan E. Thompson Bill called 4/30/07 to tell me Jeb was rated in Doggie Boot Camp over two week period of time as the Smartest Puppy there and got the highest award. Hi Marcia, We want to tell you that Roxy is doing so well, we love her, what a smart pooch or Doodle we should say. She loves everyone and has really caught on to puppy training these past 3 weeks. Thank you so much for the love and devotion you have shown to these dogs. You are truly a gem and we can not wait to share our Doodle with our friends and family. If you ever need a reference from a Vet Dr. you have people write us okay. We would love to brag about you and your home & of course your Dogs. 12/13/05 Marcia- Just wanted to touch base and let you know that little Maggie Mae is doing very well! She is such a sweet little girl and is well liked by her big brother Moses- golden retriever. They play and take naps together. It's really cute! Lots of exercising! I will be forwarding some pictures on soon so that you can see how much and how fast she is growing. She's about 18 pounds now. We can't thank you enough for your excellent puppy care :) Pictures to follow... Rose and Joe Matchett 12/1/05 Hi Marcia – so sorry we missed the story (we were back home).
Rae is doing just fine. when she is “working” as a service dog in training....she’s excellent! on our last trip back home.she made it through the airport, security, train, bus & plane without a problem! people were amazed that she is just 8 months old...so smart and such a laid back personality!
when she is just hanging around the house here...the little devil dog comes out...but that’s ok...she is still just a puppy.
just wanted to let you know...that things are going well.
have a great holiday...woof! woof!

We'd like to get another pup from you within the next year - so keep us in mind!! Have a great summer. Tricia, Dougie, DUDLEY "MOON "DOGGIE and the gang of dogs and birds. 7/6/05 Marcia we were wonderfully impressed with you as a Fine Breeder of Labradoodles, thank you for having us in your home yesterday. We are convinced out of all the Breeders we talked to and two we visited that you are tops. Your dogs are fantastic and your home is spotless. What a tribute to be a Dog and live with you. You are what people hope to find in a Breeder and a person. Again we are excited about our new Puppy MILO. And you have all of them trained so well. We enjoyed our visit more than Disney World and that says alot. Will call next week to come and get him. Regards and can not wait John Freeman & Joan & Girls Miami, Fl Hi Marcia It was a real pleasure to talk to you today about your Doodles. You were highly recommended to us by several Labradoodle Owners in St Pete and Tampa. We see your Dogs at the Market and the Dog parks and we can not tell you what beautiful animals they are. After researching the Web and talking to many breeders in Florida and outside Florida several people and other breeders tell us you are the Best We can not wait for our new addition to our family to be born in November. Thank you Marcia for all your expert and helpful advise. Happy Doodling from a very anxious dog family. Carly Nixon & Family Hi Patti & Steve, So sorry it's taken me so long to respond to your initial email it's been crazy around my house! Anyways, my husband and I made the decision last fall to adopt a schnoodle from Baylake. After much discussion we opted for the schnoodle because of it's size. Our little boy was born in October and we were able to bring him home mid-December. He was a Christmas present for the family, we have two teenage daughters, 16 and 19 and they love the puppy. Our experience dealing with Baylake Doodles was fantastic. Marcia was full of knowledge when we initially called and you could tell she loved breeding these fine animals. Once we made the decision to go with a schnoodle Marcia kept us posted on the mom's progress and the birth. She posted pictures on the web as soon as they were born which was great. Since you've been to Baylake you know first hand how much Marcia loves her babies. our little "Kirby" just turned 6mths old and he is so special to us! According to our vet he's a very happy, healthy little guy. It's amazing how intelligent these animals. I have and will continue to highly recommend Marcia and her dogs to anyone! I wish you all the best in your decision I know if you adopt from Marcia you'll be very happy! All our best to you and your new addition, Cindy & Ken Wheeler 4/14/07 Bill wrote to Patti Dear Patti, We have one of Marcia's labradoodles and so do several friends. Marcia is well known for her healthy, gorgeous, spirited pups/ She breeds expertly connecting the right Dam and Sire never wearing out Dams by over breeding. Her vet, Jim Califf, has been a friend of mine for over 20 years - and he has great regard for Marcia. We are crazy about little JEB,and love it when we get together with Marcia and other owners for bagels and dooles at an outdoor table at Einsteins. He was very easy to house train and to date he still loves his crate. I have attached a photo of >him to see how he has grown up. He is 60 lbs and everyone is >attracted to him. My friend also bought one from Marcia and when we >go to Petco they are the attraction. I would recommend Marcia if you are interested in purchasing a labradoodle. I researched over a year and found Marcia the most knowledgeable and that is why I decided to buy from her
Marcia,I was just thinking about you and checked out your website. Wow but you have expanded. Gilly will be 2 in January, can hardly believe it. I saw on your website that someone from Lithia saw a man with a Labradoodle and purchased one from you. That was Kieran and Gilly :) We moved to Lithia which is near Tampa just over a year ago, Kieran remembers the lady stopping him and he told her ONLY Bay Lake for a doodle dog ***** Bob is doing just great. Passed health exam with flying colors and got his shot. He is going back on the 2nd of January for a Booster. At 12 weeks he will be neutered and get his Rabies injection. We take him for walks and he just loves other dogs and people. He wakes us up to go out and is house trained already. (Knock on wood) Haven't had any accidents over the last 4 days (that is during the day). We are keeping him on Science Diet Puppy. Do you think we should do this for a full year? He loves his carrot treats. We have be training him with cheerios. Just a couple at a time. We are going to get a digital camera so that we can send pictures. His hair is getting long and some is turning beige. We love him dearly and so does everyone else that has met him. We are just starting to work on the nipping and jumping up. One thing at a time. Thanks ever so much. Keep in touch. Monica and Rainer Gunther 11/29/06 Dear Marcia: It is hard to believe our little Roxy, living in Tampa, will be one yr old tomorrow 01Dec!!!!!She is Hi Grandma Marcia, Happy Thanksgiving! I don't mean to stick my tongue out at you, I don't do it all the time but mom and dad thinks it's really cute when I do. I am getting bigger every day and my hair is getting lighter. I'm almost 10 lbs and have just about lost all the black hair I had. I'm still as cute as can be though and everyong that sees me thinks I'm the cutest puppy they've ever seen. I work at two shops now, mom and dad opened another shop right next door to the Irish shop. It's a religious shop called The Trinity Shop. My job is to guard and greet people at both shops. Today I have a day off and will be giving "thanks" to you and mom and dad for being so good to me. I hope you are okay and we all hope Oliver is doing okay. We've told lots of people to check out your website if they want an adoreable puppy like me. I might try to send another picture cuz this one is well over a month old. We just thought you'd like the tongue thing! Love Hannah. Say hi to Alice and Petey for me. Hannah Schnoodle 11/10/06 Hi Marcia, You may remember that we bought Molly from you in May, 2005. She is the best dog in the whole world! The girls love her very much and still hug her and kiss her all day long. She is so Your dogs ARE well cared for… I’ve NEVER seen a home filled with so many canines that was so clean and full of love – you know what I mean? Having a large number of dogs, no matter how dedicated you are, makes it difficult to keep the area from “smelling like a kennel” – and my nose would never have detected dogs in and around your home. Everyone looked so healthy and happy. Bless you for giving your dogs a wonderful home and for providing so many other people with well-bred pets. Believe me. James 10/25/06 How are you Marcia I hope things are well. Sobe and Santana are just great!!! they are growing nicely and so smart. They are almost house trained and sleep beautifully at night. The kids are having a blast with them as are Perry and I. We have a trainer coming in HI MARCIA JUST A QUICK PICTURE TO SHOW YOU ZIGGY AT THE OREGON COAST IN AUGUST. PEOPLE THOUGHT WE WERE NUTS TO FLY ALL THE WAY TO ORLANDO TO PICK HIM UP BUT WHEN THEY SEE HIM AND GET TO BE AROUND HIM, THEY CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT A GREAT, HAPPY, WONDERFUL DOG HE IS...FROM THE GROOMER TO THE VET, TO FRIENDS. I HAVE ALREADY GIVEN OUT YOUR INFO TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PURCHASE AND HAVE DONE RESEARCH ON THE BREED AND HAVE LET THEM KNOW IN ALL SERIOUSNESS AND HONESTY YOU HAVE THE MOST WONDERFUL DOGS. We adopted him from Marcia a year ago. My fiancee and I have never been happier. From day 1, we followed Marcia's suggestions and our dog has the friendly demeanor of a lab and the brains of a poodle. There is Dear Marcia, Just want you to know that Lady Godiva is everything you said she would be and more! After 20+ years of having Great Danes I was concerned about changing breeds. I am sure you knew that with all my emails and phone calls asking dozens of questions. I wanted a low key calm dog similar to danes. All along you told me I would LOVE your puppies and you are absolutely right! Your dogs are nothing like some of the hyperactive labs I have seen in my area. When we arrived at your home last week it was obvious all the puppies and dogs are well taken care of and given plenty of love and attention. It was a treat to see so many dogs and puppies roaming about your home and yard, all happy as larks! When Lady Godiva ran to me I knew she was the one. She has been calm and well adjusted no matter where I take her or what I do. Nothing phases her! She loves to ride in the car, visit friends, play with kids and meet other dogs. She is the PERFECT dog for me. Her personality is laid back and very similar to Great Danes. I just love her! Thank you so much for all your patience with me and my questions. Thank you even more for such a wonderful puppy I call Baby Godiva until she gets big enough to be Lady Godiva! Best Regards, Barb PS Please show Annie these pictures
8/10/06 Dear Marcia Wanted to send you this email to thank you for a Great Puppy. Very healthy very loving very smart. Like your approach very much on raising your dogs. Agree with the training crate as Yogi has learned so much in short 2 weeks in our home. We could not be happier with him. Its like having a new child again oh my, but not a chore at all, love all the things he brings to our family. He was wonderful the minute we got him off the plane, I actually think he listens to my every word with that head cocked when I speak to him. If my Staff at the Office where so grand ! Hope they do not read this little humor- . Again I am trilled with Yogi . Stoled the name from Tiger Woods Labradoodle you know that don't you ! Thanks Marcia Dr. Lynn McCormick, DVM Marcia, I wanted to send you some recent pictures of Jackson. he is doing very well and is a wonderful boy. We love having him as part of our family. I get a lot of compliments on his coloring and how well behaved he is. Nobody can believe how calm he is for a doodle. I always tell they what a good breeder you are and that all your dogs are like this. The first 2 I took this morning. The other one I took a couple of months ago. It's hard to get his picture because he just wants to be as close as he can get to me. Lisa Hanson 7/31/06 Hi Marcia, Hope you're doing well. I have been meaning to send you these photos for some time now of Daisy. She is doing fabulously! She's about 13 and a half pounds now ( 16 weeks) She is just a very loving dog and so smart. She learned how to sit in 1 day! We got her into the pool yesterday - and yes, she can swim! Enjoy the photos! Margaret, Martin and Sam 7/18/06 Hi Marcia..hope all is well in doodle country...we are all great...Maya is truly wonderful.gets more attention than anyone in my family...my wife, who was ambivalent about getting another dog...is in love with her (and me)---and Maya adores her..she is sweet, smart, and embracing... I love taking her to Cape Cod- when the women shop..I sit outside with Maya and draw big crowds ( I like to think it is because of me---but I am not the four leg one)...I met someone who has a doodle. and her cousin, a rabbi from Tampa...bought one from you and is very happy...we plan on attending the Southern New England Doodle Jamboree--50--100 of them ..schmoozing in a park...take care...Ken
7/8/06 Hi, my husband and I own two of ReRe's puppies (see attached pix). One, Jib (Jasper's pup), looks more lab than poodle and the other, Maggie (Cody's pup), looks more poodle than lab. Jib just turned 2 and Maggie will be 1 on Sept. 17. They are wonderful, wonderful pets. Both are calm, easily trained, affectionate and bring great joy to our lives. Not only is ReRe a great Mom, but the first 8-week environment with Marcia is a great beginning. They are all raised as pets...she has names for all and hugs and kisses them constantly. Enjoy! Kay Cole 7/7/06 From Mary Luvera in New York to another Buyer: My friend and I bought one of Marcia's labradoodles a little over a year ago. They are both loving and obedient pups. I took mine to obedience training from puppy kindergarten to basic level minding manners and he did very well. The puppies love people and get very excited when they see just about anyone (human and canine). My friend has 4 children and what they don't do to them by hugging, mauling them because they just love them shows that they have the best temperment. My pup crate trained and was house trained in just 2 months. Even though he came from Florida he loves the snow! I believe my doodle is more poodle with fur and intelligence and my friends is more lab less curley fur and she loves the water. He is a real love and if I had more time home, I would have loved another to keep him company
6/21/06 Henry is a good boy! He is getting big.....39 pounds now. The kids and I are taking him through obedience school at Petsmart and he's the smartest in the class! He's very laid back and good with the kids. He's not interested in the pool at all, but would rather run and play in the grass. He's very loving and he has made an excellent member of our family. I'll send you updated photos soon! Thanks! Laura Laura L. Meltzer Claims Specialist Workers’ Compensation 6/20/06 Marcia I am going to try to attach a photo of a labradoodle we purchased from you. Harley was born 11-26-04 and our names are Gail and Roy Eriksen. I just got a call from the kennel where we board Harley asking where we purchased him. Apparently everyone at the kennel just loves Harley. He is a great dog, but up to 80lbs now. I never thought he'd get this big. He is a a clown, just like you said he'd be. The kennel is inquiring because a client of theirs just lost her dog and is interested in a labradoodle. Hopefully, she'll buy one from you. Gail Eriksen 3/21/07 Tony & Deb: 3/5/07 We got our Labradoodle from Marcia in Jan 07, she provided us with the best knowledge and advise We gave our Australian Labradoodle to a friend that is single and has no children. She BIT my kids. I pondered and wondered why this cute little dog I paid so much for was a terror. I met Marcia thru some other buyers in Orlando Fl in College Park, where we live and I tell you I was impressed with her home and her dogs. She helped us to understand that our dog , a multi Australian Doodle has many other breeds bred right into it such as a Cocker Spaniel and our Vet said because of the cocker's personality and bite issues, this was the reason we had problems with Abbey biting. We did not want to continue raising her as we felt we would be attached or get resentful towards her, so we gave her up. Since we got Angel and she is an Angel we have appreciated the Labradoodle that Marcia breeds and I can honetly say, she has some great loving dogs, being careful not to over breed them or put any other breed into them. We learned that another family in Winter Park has Multi generation Doodle from Australia & has bite issues also. I do not want a dog with attitude issues and encourage you to get one from Marcia at Bay Lake Labradoodles. She is very experienced and great to deal with. Barb Flowers Orlando, Fl
3/3/07 Marcia, Just want you to know that Godiva gets prettier as she is getting older! She is 8 months now and getting sweeter and smarter all the time. I have seen several other doodles and not a one of them is as pretty as Godiva! Of coarse none have the sweet smart personality she has either! I just wanted you to know how much I just love her! Barb TEXAS 2/17/07 Marcia, 2/13/07 From: mlm826@tampabay.rr.com Date: 02/12/07 20:21:34 To: baylake@cfl.rr.com Subject: remember roxy? Dear Marcia: Do you remember our little Roxy from Tampa? I know we sent you a picture through the e-mail, but I haven;t seen it on your website. I cannot tell you how much we love this dog. You told me she was a mellow, mild tempered one of the litter. She is smart, loving, and exceptionally good. I think we have the best Doodle you ever bred!I have to keep writing you because she is so amazing. People stop me in the street to ask me what kind of breed she is. Her coat is truly apricot, a perfect blend of Cody and Ginger. She is approx 62 lbs, and in good health. The love and joy that she has brought to my family, especially now whenthings are a little stressed, is more than I could have ever wished for. I thank you again for such a beautiful addition to our lives. I hope you are well, and all your teeth issues are far behind. Fondly, The Misart Family from Tampa Note from Karen on 2/9/07 Karen Bianchi p.s. your references were amazingly responsive and helpful – which was very nice. I will send you a new picture of Oliver and you will be sooooo pleased! Oliver is the most beautiful dog anyone has ever seen! He is smart and totally the best dog ever. He just came in from getting the newspaper. He is perfect! I feel like I'm walking a rock start when I take him out! Remember how I wanted a light colored one and he was beige? Well, his color is magnificent. He is very light and has just tents of the beige which make him extra special. He is a very fun loving and happy boy! I guess you can tell that we are crazy about him. Many, many people have asked where I got him and I'm sure you'll get business from him. Most, almost pass out when I tell them the price....but, he is worth it! Thanks again and watch for your picture1 Margie I specifically choose Marcia because of the English Lab breeding program. I have two TINY dogs at my home (3 & 6 lbs respectively) and could not take the chance on a large, hyper dog for fear of their safety. We brought Nutley home in December – he just turned 5 months and he is the sweetest puppy. He stops traffic with his good looks and personality. His temperament is exceptional – laid back 95% of the time.. and for that 5% he turns into a rambunctious puppy, we simply have to correct him and he immediately stops. He was first in his training class – he’s a very smart boy. My children adore him and he’s my husband’s jogging buddy. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. Wish we lived closer to you (we are in Palm Beach) as I’d love for you to see him and feel confident in the breeder you have chosen. If you have decided on a Labradoodle, I would highly recommend Bay Lake. It’s worth the trip. Linda Murphy 6/15/06 Hello Marcia, Just sending you a note about Lexi and Jada. We had no problem with them coming home. Not bad for an 8 hour drive. They are definitely 2 characters. We have had more laughs at them playing. We are really enjoying them. If they do their business before bed, they sleep thru the night. The vet wanted to know what kind of dogs these were and when I told him, he asked me if I got them around here in SC. I said no, in Florida. He said He never seen such good looking dogs before. And he said, the ones he has seen didn't look like these ones. I told him that you breed them with the English lab. He was totally amazed at how different they looked. He was pretty impressed with them. And of course so are we!! Anyways, we will keep you posted on their progress. I just want to thank you again for your help and kindness. They are a real blessing! But it was only made possible by you. Thank you. Jeanine Dowgos South Carolina Hi, my name is Lisa Sullivan and I currently live in Lithia, Florida. For the past several years my husband and I have been interested in the labradoodle. Earlier this year I met a labradoodle and his owner at my son's school. The labradoodle came from Baylake Doodles. Very nice things were said about you and your puppies. I would very much like to add a labradoodle to our family. We have three boys (ages 7-12). In 2002 we put our dear 10 year old lab, Alex down (cancer). In 2004 we rescued a lab mix from the pound. We love Daisy very much and would like to add another four legged girl to our bunch of boys. Our dogs are house dogs and go everywhere we go (Military).
I would love to hear about the availability of your 6/10/06 Per Ellen Call in Kentucky when I wrote her and asked her how her new Pup was doing today " 5/26/06 We have a FABULOUS, 11/2 year old, 85 pound labradoodle, KOBI, that we were fortunate enough to purchase at Marcia's wonderful Baylake Labradoodles. Throughout, Marcia has been consistent and caring, and knowledgable, and, we could not be happier with our choice. Good luck, and we hope you will be as happy as we are with our great dog. Please feel free to ask more specifics if you so wish. Claire and Dick Kanter...Sarasota,Fl. 5/25/06 My name is Shirley Watson and we have a 1st generation doodle - Callie. We love our Doodle! Trish Hotaling 3/16/06 Momma" Marcia, Hello! I apologize I don't check this email often. I noticed you had some folks who may have some questions. I would be glad to assist in any way that I can. I must say, Maggie aka Maggie-Jean has quickly become a part of our family. Her big brother, 3 year old golden retriever, loves her. We have had 2 goldens over the last 13 years and thought they were the sweetest dogs. Maggie is tops-she is very loving, sociable, and just a sweet heart. Everyone that meets her agrees. ...and the face is absolutely adoreable. We love her! She does ask about her Momma Marcia every now and then and send sher love and kisses! God Bless- Rose Matchett Tampa, Fl 2/23/06 Dear Marcia: Well, it has been two weeks since we brought home our little roxy. I cannot believe what a beautiful, playful, loving pup we have. Roxy sleeps all night in her crate now, with no whining or barking. she goes outside for the bathroom, but still has a few accidents inside. She eats good, and is the most affectionate pup in the world. Thankyou Marcia for breeding such a loving addition to our family. I will send a pic asap, when my son shows me how to do it. I hope your surgery went well..love, marylee misarti...tampa Hi Doodle Mommy Marcia The kids had a wonderful time with you picking out our new baby puppy, Rowdy, they keep saying lets go back and talk to Ms marcia she is so neat, and all her dogs listen to to her too. thank you for a great experience with you and your lovely Doodles. I know we will keep in touch after pup comes home, its so important for us to have pocked a good caring breeder, you are tops to us. Jennifer Dowdy , Matt and Sean & of course our new addition Rowdy Dowdy 12/05 Buster......my buddy. Born 04/04. He is a wonderful Doodle... F2, 75% poodle, 25% Lab. Very little to no shedding. Absolutely fantastic disposition, not an aggressive bone in his body. Everyone comments that he is such a happy dog. He loves people and even though he is hardly ever around kids, when he is, he is very good with them. Labradoodles make great family dogs. Her Doodles are people pleasers. None better. Buster only chews what is his... Never had a dog like that before, but never had a labradoodle either. Marcia's dogs all have great dispositions and are not raised in a kennel atmosphere. Her home is their home, and she is a dedicated breeder. My life is better because of her and Buster. I am lucky to have had Buster in my life. If you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to call me... (727) 415-3316.....Ned 4/26/06 Hi Marsha, Just dropping a line to let you know how CJ is doing.
